Boxing Clever 1,[1] also called The Box-Smashing Mini-Game,[2] Crate Breaking,[3] and Crate Game,[4] is an episode in Delfino Plaza in Super Mario Sunshine. It takes place inside of the crate guy's crate shop, where he crate guy asks Mario to smash every crate in the building within thirty seconds for a prize. If Mario fails to smash them all, he can leave and reenter the building to retry it. Once every crate is destroyed, the crate guy congratulates Mario and rewards him with a Shine Sprite. Smashing the crates and then talking to the crate guy only causes them to respawn as soon as the timer begins. Completing Boxing Clever 1 unlocks a harder variation, Boxing Clever 2.
