The Speedventure of Link is an official course in Course World in Super Mario Maker 2. It is the second level of Ninji Speedruns, uploaded on December 19, 2019 and running until December 26, 2019. It is set in the forest theme for the main area and the castle theme for the sub area, in the Super Mario Bros. style. This level introduces the Master Sword, which was added in a recent content update. The clear condition for this course is to reach the goal as Link.

Layout[edit]

The level starts out with a yellow pipe which gives Mario a Master Sword, transforming him into Link. Ahead of him is a Big Piranha Plant with some regular Piranha Plants. Above is a red pipe which rolls out spike balls. Link can either use bombs or deflect a spike ball with his shield to break the Hard Blocks ahead of him, revealing a Spike. There is another red pipe rolling out spike balls above, which clear away another Big Piranha Plant. Below him is another yellow pipe giving out Master Swords. Up ahead is another red pipe rolling out spike balls which clear away two Pokeys. After this is the green pipe leading to the sub area, with a 10-Coin above Link can get to.

At the start of the sub area is a ? Block containing a 1-Up Mushroom, with a yellow pipe giving out Master Swords. After this are a few enemies, including Piranha Plants, a Hammer Bro, and Lava Bubbles on tracks. Then, Link can defeat either the Sledge Bro on the top path or the two Fire Piranha Plants on the bottom path and use bombs to clear away the Hard Blocks in his way. After this is the pipe leading back to the main area, although if Link keeps using bombs to clear away the Hard Blocks ahead, he will discover a large group of coins in the shape of a Triforce.

Back in the main area, there is one last yellow pipe giving out Master Swords, two more Pokeys, a Deep Cheep, and a row of red Dotted-Line Blocks blocking the Goal Pole. Link must shoot an arrow over the blocks to get the 30-Coin and activate the ON/OFF Switches, allowing him to reach the goal.

Description[edit]

"Grab the Master Sword and transform into Link! Use your sword, shield, bow, and bombs to make it to the goal. You can check Link's controls anytime by selecting Mario's Moves from the pause menu. Mastering Link is the key to finding the fastest route!"
