"Map 3 World"[1] is a theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario Bros. 3 that, as the name implies, can be heard on the overworld map of Water Land, the third world of the game. The theme has also gone on to become a recurring theme in The Legend of Zelda franchise as the "Fairy Fountain" theme.

Two different arrangements of "Map 3 World" can be heard in the The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episodes Reign Storm and 7 Continents for 7 Koopas. Additionally, a slower arrangement is heard in The Beauty of Kootie.

Super Mario All-Stars[edit]
The Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 3 uses a 16-bit arrangement of "Map 3 World" that, like in the original, can be heard on the Sea Side world map. This arrangement is also used in Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition.

The Legend of Zelda series[edit]
Since its original appearance in Super Mario Bros. 3, "Map 3 World" has gone on to become a recurring theme in The Legend of Zelda franchise as the "Fairy Fountain" theme. Following the theme's inclusion in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, "Fairy Fountain" has been featured in almost every mainline The Legend of Zelda game. It is usually used on file selection screens, and in Fairy Fountains and Great Fairy Fountains.
