In Donkey Kong for the Game Boy, an octopus makes an appearance in the iceberg world. The octopus does not try to kill Mario, but it jumps onto him and prevents him from walking or pulling levers for a certain amount of time. This makes it more difficult for the player to complete the level within the time limit.
