Rising pillars,[1] also known as stone pillars or simply pillars,[2] are objects in Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. They are located in Mount Beanpole and Fire Bros. Hideout #2 only. Rising pillars have an appearance of Hisstocrat. In Mount Beanpole, a player needs to scratch the Cat Wheel to reach a Cloud Cannon with a stone pillar. In Fire Bros. Hideout #2, there are two rising pillars that rise and then lower back down every few seconds; one pillar is at the top, whilst the other is always at the bottom. In Bowser's Fury, Cat Mario can scratch the Cat Wheel to extend rising pillars and collect the "Climb to the Shine" and "Spin, Scramble, Shine" Cat Shines. In both games, rising pillars lower back down after a Cat Wheel has not been interacted with for a short period of time.
