Bonus level[edit]
Exclusively in the Nintendo Switch version of Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a bonus level that appears after completing enough levels. The final bonus level in the entire game is based on the layout for Level 8-1+, removing all hazards and adding several Springs and another Garbage Can. The player must make use of the springs to quickly collect all the 1-Up Mushrooms way up ahead, and to quickly catch the flying key. That done before the timer runs out, the player can bring it to the chest to receive the final bonus of extra lives.
