Smash Bros.
The character I played most in Melee (as of current stats) is Young Link, 2nd most played is Zelda. The character I can play best with is Yoshi, for reasons I don't know.

spoiler
A very well-written and in-depth review of Brawl ~ nuff said.

The most anticipated game for me is currently Śũpĕŗ Šmäŝħ Břøş. Bŕãẁł. Sadly, the game will be released in Europe in June. -.- In the meantime, I'm doing some core analyzing of what we can await from the game, seen in this chart.

The scale for the characters includes Sheik, Zero Suit Samus and counts the Pokémon Trainer as three characters - what he effectively is. Brawl offers a very good amount of characters, and there should be one for every taste at least. It's pointless to whine about who didn't get in, not everything's worth to get in, and not everything is worth little enough to be put into a pure commercial game. ;)

Stages - generally, the stages follow a basic layout, and the historical Melee stages follow it. For example, the Melee Corneria stage got scaled down to be roughly the size of Norfair - for good or bad. The game features historical sites such as World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros., and adds latest areas from Nintendo's recent games, such as the Bridge of Eldin from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, released December '06, and also features non-Nintendo stages like Shadow Moses Island from Metal Gear Solid. But there are also obscure stages and gimmicks as seen in the Flat Zone stage of Melee, like the PictoChat stage or a stage in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker graphical style. But that's all nothing compared to the possibilities that the stage editor and the daily downloadable stage will give the creative Smash Brother.

There are many modes and collectibles in Brawl, which guarantee for endless fun - and use endless memory, 128 blocks excluding custom stages, screenshots and replays of fights. Brawl, Special Brawl with more functions than ever, Wi-Fi connection, Classic Mode, All-Star, Tourney, Rotation, Stadium with Target Smash, Home-Run Contest, Multi-Man Brawl, the Coin Launcher mini-game, and, and, and... This all is topped by the Subspace Emissary adventure mode, which, at second look, wouldn't even be needed to make the game fantastic.

Characters
I currently have few ideas on how the characters will turn out, how they will feel when playing them, but this is due to be filled when I get the game (which can be some while still).

Characters who I think will be good:
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry31.jpg
width=50%|In my opinion, Zelda has the best character design in this game and also a quite unique moveset. She's hard to master, which is even better considering that not anyone can play her easily.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry136.jpg
width=50%|A giant hammer-wielding, Waddle-Dee-throwing penguin? What's more awesome? In fact, King Dedede is great for being a strong and heavy character with an awesome recovery.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry54.jpg
Yoshi has great Smash Attacks which make him very powerful. My best character in Melee by far, and considering that he now has a recovery move, he can only get better.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry267.jpg
Toon Link has a great design despite sadly copying from Link. He looks even better than Young Link was - my most played character in Melee. Yay for the Wind Waker style.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry05.jpg
Link's main weakness compared to his younger self was always his speed, which I personally rely more on. Considering that he didn't have much changes, he's still going to be good.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry237.jpg
"Falcon Punch!" basically says it all. Captain Falcon is a very fun character to play with.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry60.jpg
I don't know much about him, but from what I've seen, he seems to take sword fight to a new level. His attacks are a bit unconventional. He's said to be good.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry25.jpg
Some filler text in here, I have no idea why I put Samus there.
Characters who I think will be average:
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry04.jpg
width=50%|It's-a him, Mario! Indeed, Mario isn't anything special as a character, but he definitely has got the Mario style. It's always nice to play as him.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry230.jpg
width=50%|Luigi's rocket makes him a quite different character from Mario, and he definitely has a different style. I prefer Luigi over Mario. His character is more defined, Mario is just ... Mario.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry38.jpg
Bowser's design has greatly improved from Melee, this is the actual Bowser! His smash attacks are smashing, I played him third most previously and he's still going to be one of my favourites.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry73.jpg
I didn't play Peach much myself, but I can't argue that she's pretty decent. Vegetables can be annoying. Her Smash Attacks are a bit crazy as well.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry250.jpg
He's the ultimate Retro character and simply a must in an All-Star game. Old school in all ways. He's a crazy character and will remain fun to play as.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry18.jpg
Kirby has style, period.

Characters I don't know how they will be:
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry197.jpg
width=50%|I didn't play Pikmin much but I still know that they are awesome. Olimar's character looks interesting, he has a very unconventional moveset and looks like not many people are going to play as him.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry68.jpg
width=50%|I don't like this guy's face, but his Pokémon definitely represent the first generation of Pokémon, and thus the only one I'm familiar with. All Pokémon (<font face=Comic Sans MS>Schiggy, Bisaknosp, Glurak</font>) look great so far.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry88.jpg
Some Kirby guy I didn't really know before.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry248.jpg
R.O.B. is everywhere! Well, some comeback for this guy.
http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/5324/lucariojd2.jpg
Aww, this is how Lucario looks at his best.

Characters which won't be that good:

Characters which could have been left out:
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry103.jpg
width=50%|I don't think his style matches well with the Nintendo characters (unlike Sonic), he's definitely a different sort. Well, more diversity in the Brawl...
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry257.jpg
width=50%|When looking at it, Ganondorf is the only true <font face=Comic Sans MS>Bösewicht</font> in this game aside from maybe Wolf. Thus, he's best as a target for some special brawl sessions.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry218.jpg
I'm bad at playing Ness and Ness is bad at recovering.
http://www.smashbros.com/de/list/images/entry76.jpg
I don't liek [sic] the Donkey Kong series.

Stages
colspan=4|Mario Series
valign="top" width=25%|
Delfino Plaza<br>
There had to be a Sunshine stage, and this looks like one of the best solutions. Great design for a great game, what do I want more? Music. And the Ricco Harbour music is there, so all expectations fulfilled for this one.
valign="top" width=25%|
Luigi's Mansion<br>
The mansion is a must as a stage for Luigi, though the breakable tiles rather are rather strange and unneeded. Not every stage has to be entirely true to the game either, and this stage still has much Luigi's Mansion flair. I'm happy that it's in.
valign="top" width=25%|
Mario Circuit<br>
Here we go! Mario Sports games are great, so a stage for them is good to see. It's good that it didn't turn out into a Mute City or Big Blue remake, Mario Kart games are definitely different. This stage is a bit unusual, I've got the feeling that it could have been better, but that doesn't mean it's not good nontheless.
valign="top" width=25%|
Rainbow Ride<br>
Super Mario 64 was a great game, Rainbow Ride was the best course in it. It's pretty cool that there's still a stage for it in the Brawl, they really cover almost all of the Mario series in this game, new, old and spin-off. The stage itself is of course not new, but that shouldn't hurt the feel, in fact add to it as it is closer to the original.
colspan=2|Donkey Kong Series
colspan=2|Yoshi Series
valign="top"|
Rumble Falls<br>
Icicle Mountain in a new, better look. Still, Icicle Mountain is by far not my favourite stage, so this stage will have to offer something different as well.
valign="top"|
Jungle Japes<br>
A good stage in Melee. Subject to the same size problems as all other historical stages, but still a classic.
valign="top"|
Yoshi's Island<br>
Comes in a Yoshi feeling and will have a Yoshi feeling. Nothing spectacular after Yoshi's Story from Melee and Yoshi's Island from the original Smash Bros.
valign="top"|
Yoshi's Island<br>
The stage with the hidden trap for those who concentrate on their opponents too much and disregard the stage. Super Mario World was another great Mario game, and it's quite surprising that it still has a Smash Bros. stage.
colspan=4|Retro
valign="top"|
Mushroomy Kingdom<br>
Old games turned old - interesting concept. This might bring back good memories from the original Super Mario Bros. It fits much better than previous Mushroom Kingdom stages from Smash Bros., and considering that it's 2-in-1, it's bound not to get boring soon.
valign="top"|
Mushroomy Kingdom<br>
Actually too good not to mention it a second time. Underground areas like this are also a classic in Super Mario Bros. This is the best solution, include both overworld and underground to be true to the game. The top line of blocks might get in the way of certain items.
valign="top"|
75m<br>
I never played the original game, so I don't know what to think about this stage. For being the first successful Nintendo game ever, the first ever Mario game etc., this deserves a stop, though I'm not sure whether a stage would have been needed.
valign="top"|
Mario Bros.<br>
A classical game, even more than Super Mario Bros. 2. The stage takes the total control over the fighters, as K.O.s are hard without the Mario Bros. enemies. The opposite to Final Destination, for good and bad.
colspan=3|Zelda Series
Wario Series
valign="top"|
Bridge of Eldin<br>
Nice choice for a Zelda stage, had epic moments in Zelda TP. Completely flat and still not boring. Though in the videos I've seen, the bombing of the bridge will get quite annoying.
valign="top"|
Pirate Ship<br>
Awesome design for a Windwaker stage, truly represents the game. This will be a very interesting stage to play on.
valign="top"|
Temple<br>
Good Melee stage, definitely worth being in Brawl. Being the third Zelda stage in the Brawl, this is actually based on more classical Zelda games I'm not quite fond of. One for everyone.
valign="top"|
WarioWare<br>
WarioWare games are fast and crazy, and this stage seems to fit them best. I wonder how many microgames I can recognize from Mega Microgame$!

valign="top"|
Frigate Orpheon<br>
Metroid stages where definitely needing something different from the Brinstar layout, which didn't get better through Brinstar Depths in Melee and Norfair in Brawl. The only Metroid game I've seriously played was Metroid Fusion, so this fits better for me.
valign="top"|
Norfair<br>
A bad copy of Brinstar and Flat Zone from Melee - nothing really interesting on the stage, but features annoying harrasses which come out of nowhere. Might still be good to play on.
valign="top"|
Brinstar<br>
Blah, same as Melee. This should turn out better than the Norfair stage as it has destructible parts and generally looks less artificial.
valgin="top"|
Smashville<br>
The stage itself is pretty simple. There's a need for those stages after all those with special effects and this and that. And yet, the real-life time might be something to look forward to. A different stage at different times.

Fire Emblem Series
valign="top"|
Spear Pillar<br>
Strange place, definitely something new for a Pokémon stage. I'll still have to see how it feels. At least not a third Pokémon Stadium.
valign="top"|
Pokémon Stadium 2<br>
Basically the same stage as to the right, but with different environments, which should be good. Also, you now can see Pokémons in the background - Pokémon Stadium will stay the easy stage for Training Mode, forget Battlefield.
valign="top"|
Pokémon Stadium<br>
The same thing with different changes. Not exactly spectacular, Poké Floats was an interesting concept and this is simply a copy. But I didn't expect anything else from the creators, it's just a matter of taste on which to play on.
valign="top"|
Castle Siege<br>
The concept looks interesting. I don't know Fire Emblem games, but this looks very good and has some catchy music.

I generally don't like moving stages, but this has a nice setting and some environmental changes. Like Mute City, I guess.
valign="top"|
Green Greens<br>
I liked Fountain of Dreams better, but a second Kirby stage is better than nothing.
valign="top"|
Lylat Cruise<br>
A quite general stage which takes its gameplay elements straight from Battlefield. But the background is promising, there will definitely be more action ongoing than on the various backgrounds of Final Destination in Melee.
valign="top"|
Corneria<br>
This was great in Melee, but as it got scaled down it lost some of its feel. Might still serve for good battles.
colspan=2|F-Zero Series
colspan=2|EarthBound/Mother Series
valign="top"|
Port Town Aero Dive<br>
Basically Mute City in a new look, nothing surprising. If the "Aero Dive" part wouldn't have been scrapped in German altogether, I would have promoted Æro Dive though. ;)
valign="top"|
Big Blue<br>
Was great in Melee, though it is bound to suffer from its smaller size in Brawl. But I guess it's still worth some fights.
valign="top"|
New Pork City<br>
Three words: long, big, strange. Definitely one of the more obscure stages. We'll see how it turns out in gameplay.
valign="top"|
Onett<br>
Was good in Melee and will stay good in Brawl - unless it gets the same scale-down as Corneria.

Pikmin feeling seems to fit well into this stage, though I'm still unsure how it will turn out.
valign="top"|
Skyworld<br>
I wouldn't call the stage's entire concept original, but the destructible platforms will teach fighters not to smash everywhere they can. Sounds promising.
valign="top"|
Flat Zone 2<br>
Appears to be Flat Zone with different games featured on it. So apart from the expected changes, this is still the good, old stage where you can get kicked off very easily. Classical.
valign="top"|
The Summit<br>
This stage is changing itself completely, but does better than Castle Siege - I believe. May the game tell me how it really is.

Shadow Moses Island<br>
I don't like Snake, but this seems to fit his personality best - a dark area, sometimes it's snowing, strange objects in the background. Best feel for the wo... I mean Snake.
valign="top"|
Green Hill Zone<br>
I don't know Sonic games, but this stage seems to fit him best. It looks nice to play on. Sonic music on it is definitely to anything from Nintendo.
valign="top"|

valign="top"|
Final Destination<br>
The German translation of this made me laugh (this was untranslated last time): "Letzte Station". That, quite litterally, means "final station" of a train.

Yes! This is what I've always been looking for. Beware of my craziest stages ever!

While the two-racer system looks like a good idea, it is not a revolution and could easily have done without, creating not much difference in gameplay. Most of the tracks are nice, but some lack an original design. There are not enough courses all in all, and other sections lack variety as well. The characters being paired in teams prevents the game from having surprise additions to the driving roster. It is only a decent Mario Kart game overall.

Featuring both revolutionary (Wii Wheel) and classical (Nunchuck) control schemes, and bikes, it creates much more variety. The new courses are designed well and the Retro tracks have been polished up to meet Wii graphics standards. The cup, drivers and kart system are improved and Wi-Fi is bound to ensure replay value. A major upgrade to Double Dash!!, when ignoring Mario Kart DS it is a reinvention of Mario Kart driving. I'm enjoying it very much.

<font size=4>Mario (species)</font>

Marios are identical mustachioed human race who love to play with each other, or any Nintendo characters including the real Mario. They first appear in the upcoming game called, Mario's Mirror Mania where he is divided into eight of them with many colors.

<font size=3>Biology</font>

A Mario's best feature is his moustache, which keeps him cute and playful. While playing with him, you'll pull his moustache, stretch it back and let it go to drive him nuts. Just like Mario, his species use to jump, run, slide and kick their way. They probably hug and take care of each other while they have white gloves, along with their color. Marios also have eyes, these are related to Mario's. He himself has blue, and the others' have different colored, except for the others in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

<font size=3>Outfit Pigment</font>

The color of their hat and shirt can be anything, even black and white. They can change their color by grabbing a fireflower, and yet their colors are related to Yoshis or the Neopets from the Neopets website. In the Super Smash Bros series, a player changes one of a Mario's five or six colors when they chose him. In the upcoming game Mario's Mirror Mania, Marios had abilities depending on their color and Mirror Mushrooms. If a Pink Mario gets a Mirror Mushroom, it could hurl love-hearts at foes. If a Green Mario gets a Mirror Mushroom, it could use earthquake. Their overalls' color is in conjuction with their clothes, except their pair of brown shoes; a red Mario has blue overalls, a blue Mario has pink overalls, ect.
