This list is the Duel of 100. I propose a merge because the article I would like to merge this with has a better introduction while the list has a better body to it. Also having two separate articles may be in violation of MarioWiki:Once and only once. If the merge happens, the list page becomes a redirect or gets deleted while the official name stays up.

====Comments==== | |||
While part of me thinks it's not a bad idea, the other half of me can argue against the fact that the list of Sammer Guys is the Duel of 100. While technically it is listing off all 100 Sammer Guys, the point of the article is to list off the Sammer Guys, which relates more to the enemy rather than the event. The Duel of 100 article is meant to give insight on the event as a whole, this list is for statistics on each individual Sammer Guy so it pertains more to Sammer Guys and Big Sammer Guys. So I dunno. 17:04, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
:That sort of thing belongs in a bestiary, which it looks like Super Paper Mario lacks (unless you count List of Catch Cards in Super Paper Mario as a sort of bestiary). Maybe Duel of 100 needs a rewrite to make it clearer? Or maybe we can split PAGENAME to be in the four chapter pages? -- 17:33, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
:::The list of Catch Cards pretty much acts as the bestiary, despite not being formatted in the same way. And there isn't really a point to splitting them based on chapters when it's far easier to just have the list with all of them. Sections within the list maybe, but not four separate articles for each chapter (we'd have to do that for every chapter in the game). When I really think about it; the list of Sammer Guys and the Duel of 100 talk about two different (yet related) subjects so I think it's fine to leave them split off. 18:30, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
::::The list of Catch Cards has one thing that bestiaries lack. I am talking about non-enemy characters. This even includes stuff not found in the game but previous games. 10:11, 29 August 2016 (EDT)
I can see why Wildgoosespeeder thinks that this article need a better introduction. Even with my better wording, it's not the best intro. But I don't see a way of putting the info from Duel of 100 without it actually being part of it (which this proposal will do if passed) or breaking the "Once and Only Once" rule. It needs its own intro if this proposal fails. Also the second picture of this article has nothing to do with this article while this article, but the Duel of 100. I would like to have it removed when this proposal fails. 17:23, 31 August 2016 (EDT)
== End Boss == | |||
I think End Boss needs his own article. People say that he doesn't because none of the other Sammer Guys do and being the last one doesn't merit his own article. And there's some logic in that. But I think otherwise. End Boss is his own type of Sammer Guys. He's the only one with a spiked club and he has the unique ability of breathing fire. We have separate articles for different types of Sammer Guys (Regular, Big and Small). So since End Boss is his own type, he should have his own article too. Ultimate Mr. L (talk) 14:59, 5 September 2016 (EDT)
:No. There is not enough info about him to have him in his own article. He doesn't have anything unique enough to do so. He only appears two times. Only one of those times we get to have a full info about him. Although, we do have Young Professor Elvin Gadd who only appears one time, but then again his future self is much more known. End Boss who is less will probably have no luck as its own article. Unless you feel really strong about End Boss becoming an article, do a proposal first (which can be done once autocomfirmed) and see what other people have to hear. I say really strong because he has no unique thing other than breathing fire which doesn't add up to much. I could be wrong about breathing fire doesn't add up to much though. 15:55, September 6 2016 (EDT)
::Should we remove the arricle for Big and little Sammer Guys, then? I don't think there's much more on them than on any other type.
:::No. They are confirm in the game as catch cards which give more information than End Boss does. 17:39, 8 September 2016 (EDT)

Should I add :de:Milits Recken as an interwiki link on this article? The page appears to be a page about Sammer Guys in general, so I added the link there, but the page also contains a list of the Sammer Guys. -- 18:24, 2 June 2017 (EDT) |

I would do this myself, but have to go. Mr. Plumber, it's 2 = signs for a main section and 3 for a subsection, not 1 & 2. All of that has to be changed. Wa TC@Y 19:34, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

It's all fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience (my hand is falling off ;_;)--Luigifan14 20:03, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
- I'll be more then glad to help out. I just have to prepare to face them... - Smashgoom202 20:20, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
- Sure. Just take notes on everyone you fight so tha this section is more in depth. :D --Luigifan14 20:23, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, I noticed that. I wasn't sure if I was going to try and mke individual articles for each of them, though. - Smashgoom202 14:28, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
Of course! I'm planning on finding out more about them. I remember a trio of brothers that attended an Academy together. When I remember/find out who exactly they were, I'll be sure to add that info about them! - Smashgoom202 08:03, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
Types[edit]
We also need to list the types. TheGreatBlockyBoo, Wasn't there a white one...?
About Master Wiggler[edit]
Super Luigi 821, do you know what a haiku is? If so, you don't need to put "haikus" in quotations. You can just say he says haikus frequently. - Smashgoom202 13:26, 26 May 2007 (EDT)
- No idea. Silent but deadly! SuperLuigi821 You lost everything. Way to go genious.
- A haiku is a type of poem.--Dreyfus2006 14:31, 26 May 2007 (EDT)
Puns[edit]
Most of the names aren't really "puns," but just references to other Nintendo characters. IMHO, something should be done about that.--Kahran042
- Well, they are puns too. A pun is a play on words. But yeah, until I saw this I called them references... I guess a differentiation should be made. Those with puns should be called puns (like "Guy Who Fry") while those that are simply references laking puns (like "Jade Blooper") should simply be called references.--Dreyfus2006 13:38, 28 May 2007 (EDT)
Table[edit]
I made sort of a table for the Sammer Guys...
Name: Self-explainitory.
Type: Green, Red, Big...
Weapon: A club or a sword?
Spike: Yes/No
Attack Power: Again, obvious.
Attacks: The attacks they can do.
Defense: Obvious.
HP: Also obvious.
Abilites: Jump? Roll? That's what this is for.
Tattle: Obvious.
Other: Other info.
There may be a better order to these. TheGreatBlockyBoo, Yep.
- Aw... No comments? TheGreatBlockyBoo 13:53, 3 June 2007 (EDT)
Sounds like a goo idea.Knife (talk) 22:21, 20 July 2007 (EDT)
I would gladly go through the Duel of 100 again to make such a table for all of the Sammer Guys. However, my normal jump attack packs a punch of 30 Damage, so I wouldn't be able to tell the Sammer Guys' HP. General Guy 16:41, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
- Uh... If I remember correctly, you can't do the Duel of 100 multiple times. TheGreatBlockyBoo 19:00, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
- Well, I hadn't tried yet, but King Sammer told me to come back anytime if I was looking for some melee. I guess I took that the wrong way. General Guy 17:39, 28 September 2007 (EDT)

Merge with Duel of 100[edit]
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal. |
don't merge 1-5
This list is the Duel of 100. I propose a merge because the article I would like to merge this with has a better introduction while the list has a better body to it. Also having two separate articles may be in violation of MarioWiki:Once and only once. If the merge happens, the list page becomes a redirect or gets deleted while the official name stays up.
