:The hardware news here in Australia simply says, "This teaser trailer features recognisable faces like Mario, Link and Inklings from the Splatoon series." This merely confirms their appearances in the game and not their playability, and while it's possible to change regions on the Switch, the news channels stay the same, so unless it says differently on the American Nintendo News channel, the Inklings should be treated as a "confirmed element" to reflect what we have right now until Nintendo explicitly confirms they are playable. 21:06, 24 April 2018 (EDT) | |||

Hello, Hugman. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello! When uploading images please remember to add a category relating to the game, such as .

- Sorry, I probably should have told you, but I already added the categories to your recent uploads. --TheFlameChomp (talk) 12:34, 8 September 2017 (EDT)
Plurals[edit]
Hello. Just to let you know, for your edits on the Gallery:Super Mario Odyssey page, that it is proper to turn links into a plural by just adding "s" on the end, like Power Moons. I'll revert these edits for you on that page, but just so you know for the future. It keeps the source text much less messy. MarioComix (talk) 21:37, 14 September 2017 (EDT)
Latest appearances[edit]
Hi. Please don't change the latest appearances to Super Mario Odyssey until the game is released. Thanks. Mario JC 02:30, 16 September 2017 (EDT)
Personal Images[edit]
Just want to let you know before you upload any further (and if you already know, then just ignore me) that you can only have up to four personal images at a time. Any more will end up with some being deleted. More info at MarioWiki:Personal files. 14:34, 2 October 2017 (EDT)
Some image things[edit]
Just so you know, when you move a file, be sure to mark the original name up for deletion so it can be...deleted. And when uploading new versions of images, press Ctrl+F5 to refresh the cache so the image displays correctly. 16:25, 6 October 2017 (EDT)
- Additionally, before uploading, please be sure to check the image doesn't exist first. In the case of the Micro Goomba and Glydon images you uploaded, one way of doing this is checking Category:Super Mario Odyssey Images; an easier way would be to look through the subjects' pages and Gallery:Super Mario Odyssey to see if they have them (and sometimes Special:Upload lets you know if you're uploading an exact duplicate of another file, too). If the image you have is the same format (e.g. JPG, PNG) and can improve over the old one, you can upload over it by clicking "Upload a newer version of this file". SVGs[edit]
Hey, thanks for converting those images to SVGs!

- No worries, you responded correctly :)
Inklings[edit]
- Enough with the edit war on Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo Switch).
- What does this Nintendo Switch Hardware News article actually say?
- The hardware news here in Australia simply says, "This teaser trailer features recognisable faces like Mario, Link and Inklings from the Splatoon series." This merely confirms their appearances in the game and not their playability, and while it's possible to change regions on the Switch, the news channels stay the same, so unless it says differently on the American Nintendo News channel, the Inklings should be treated as a "confirmed element" to reflect what we have right now until Nintendo explicitly confirms they are playable. Mario JC 21:06, 24 April 2018 (EDT)
- Same deal; that doesn't explicitly confirm their playability, so the information shouldn't be changed accordingly until further information is revealed. For now, we'll list them as "new characters", but not "new playable characters" yet. Mario JC 19:31, 25 April 2018 (EDT)
