An Editor Block is a type of block that debuted in Super Mario Maker, and made further appearances in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Mario Maker 2. In Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2, they only appear if you test a level and there are no platforms below the player, and they spawn underneath the player, disappearing when the player jumps or walks off. In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, they appear in the beginning of a battle in the stage Super Mario Maker, where they spawn underneath every player and fade out when the match begins.
