The first theme heard in the game wouldn't necessarily make it the base theme, though. "Bob-omb Battlefield" has been named the "main theme" for Mario 64 in the official soundtrack and in Smash. Mario JC 01:28, September 28, 2019 (EDT)

That's the thing. You don't SEE how they sound familiar, you HEAR. Plus the sectioning is pretty similar to both the main theme & slider. Super Mario 3-D World goes IAAB. Like the other related themes in SM64/DS, the fast version in SMM2, the other speed-altered versions in SMG2, & the "60 seconds left" & "30 seconds left" versions of Mario Chase: Slide Hill in Nintendo Land?
