- This is a problem I have with these career- and role-based categories. They're perfectly useful for characters whose role or career is a defining part of their characterization (e.g. Mario in Category:Plumbers), but come across as out of place when used for characters who only serve such a role in a few select appearances. Swallow had a proposal on the elemental creature categories to tighten their definition to subjects strongly associated with the element in question, so perhaps one of us could do something similar with the career and role categories? Granted, such a proposal would span many, many categories — and I'm still in the middle of discussing Category:Thieves! SolemnStormcloud (talk) 14:59, January 12, 2024 (EST)

This man owns a seedbox for anyone to use, and while he's torrenting, his download/upload ratio for all the several thousand files of Switch ROMs and illicit kpop and R&B girl group music he's seeding is 1:8. No I don't think Mario should be classed as a pirate even if he took a pirate alias in Pirates of Koopa.

- Indeed, I think the only "pirate alias" character that should be classified is K. Rool, since it was important in the games he had it, and even when he doesn't, he still tends to hang out on a pirate ship.
