Red-Hot Elevator Ride, or Peach's Castle- is the penultimate course of Peach's Castle in New Super Mario Bros. U. Despite being labeled as a castle, it is completely vertical and takes place on an elevator, similar to World 7-2 in New Super Mario Bros. (the player needs to step on the sides to go left or right and the middle to go up) and World 7-Tower in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The level also has no boss, and the end-of-level fortress seen behind the flagpole is missing, making it the only level in the game with this distinction.
This course is used for the Challenge Mode courses Elevator Out of Service and Express Elevator.
Layout
The level begins in a area with a Goomba, a ? Block containing a power-up, and rising lava. A Warp Pipe is found, leading to the next area. The second area is a vertical level, similar to Towers, with an elevator platform above lava that rises. The elevator can only hold one other enemy or object, so if a coin, Goomba, or Bob-omb lands on it, the elevator stops. Coins on parachutes are found, along with Bowser Stunners. Some yellow Warp Pipes that generate Goombas are also found. More Bowser Stunners are found, followed by a rows of Brick Blocks blocking the elevator's path, along with a P Switch that turns them into coins. More coins on parachutes and Parabombs are found. More Bowser Stunners are found, along with a Red Ring. A Warp Door is located at the top of the area, leading to the Goal Pole.
Star Coins
- Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin is found after the first Goomba-generating Warp Pipe.
- Star Coin 2: The second Star Coin is behind a wall of Brick Blocks. It can be obtained by using a P Switch or a Bob-omb.
- Star Coin 3: The third Star Coin is found between a group of Bowser Stunners, right before the end of the course.
