The battle starts with Krow taking out an egg from his nest and dropping it on the ground; the egg slowly bounces in the direction of Diddy and Dixie, going lower with each bounce, until it stops moving. When the egg stops moving, either from being hit or by having the Kongs jump onto it themselves, Krow charges at the Kongs. Diddy or Dixie have to pick up the egg and hit Krow with it. Eventually, after a second hit, Krow begins to attack by ramming his head into his nest, causing a few eggs to fall from the nest individually while spinning. One of the eggs eventually lands on the ground, allowing Diddy or Dixie to use it. If the Kongs do not pick up the egg on time or hit Krow with the egg, the process repeats. After taking a fourth hit, Krow is defeated, the Kongs rewarded with a [[Kremkoin]], and the next world, [[Crocodile Cauldron]], is unlocked.

Krow's Nest is the boss level of Gangplank Galleon, the first world of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. The Kongs must face Krow in order to reach the second world, Crocodile Cauldron. Krow's Nest is a pun on crow's nest, the lookout post of a ship, and similarly, Krow's Nest is the one of Gangplank Galleon.

In the Game Boy Advance version, like other bosses, Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong must pay ten Banana Coins to Swanky Kong in order to rematch Krow at his location. After defeating Krow, the Kongs are rewarded with two blue Extra Life Balloons.

After taking a fourth hit, Krow is defeated, the Kongs rewarded with a Kremkoin, and the next world, Crocodile Cauldron, is unlocked.

Trivia

  • Krow's Nest was originally supposed to take place during the storm, right after Topsail Trouble, which takes place during the storm.[citation needed] However, in the final version, it is set in a windy setting like Mainbrace Mayhem.
