Both are visually identical to regular Goombas, both are colored-green, and both are significantly more powerful than the more common variety, and both are individual to the RPG series. It seems fair that Gu Goombas are precursors to Hyper Goombas, just like Terrapins are to Koopatrol, so the information would be more effective in one place. :Yeah, I was going to remove this merge-proposal anyways. I looked into their Jp names, and don't see much of a similarity. Merge to Hyper Goomba[edit]

Redstar 15:30, 2 December 2009 (EST)

I Don`t think Gu Goomba article should merge with Hyper Goomba article. They are a whole different species, their looks does not make them anything similar. User:MarioMaster720 3.12.2009
An entirely different species that just so happens to look identical as well as behave in the same way, and only be featured in the same genre of game? I'm sort of leaning towards changing my mind on this, but it's fairly obvious that Nintendo took this character as inspiration and just recycled it. Redstar 09:06, 3 December 2009 (EST)

But Hyper Goombas can't use Thornet and their normal attack looks nothing like the Gu Goomba's normal attack. Hyper Goombas have completely different habitats and stats. We can't just merge things just because of similarity in appearance, unless you can prove that the Gu Goomba was a precursor to the Hyper Goomba (no assumptions).--Knife (talk) 13:12, 4 December 2009 (EST)

Yeah, I was going to remove this merge-proposal anyways. I looked into their Jp names, and don't see much of a similarity. Gu Goombas do largely seem to be the precursors to or at least the inspiration for Hyper Goombas, but I won't press it without valid evidence. Against my standards.
