| ====Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U====
| |
| Alph makes his Super Smash Bros. debut as a playable character accessible via Captain Olimar's alternate costumes in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. As an alternate model swap, his attacks and statistics are identical to Olimar's with any and all changes merely being cosmetic. As with other alternative costumes, the game does not acknowledge him as a separate character from Olimar in battle records and miscellaneous aspects, such as Classic Mode. The exception to this is the announcer, crowd, and character selection, all of which say and/or display his own name. He shares this trait with the Koopalings - the alternate costumes of Bowser Jr. - who are also named, but not acknowledged as separate characters. In All-Star mode, Alph can also appear in place of Olimar, and in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, he can be faced as an opponent in rounds 4 and 5 of Classic mode.

| ====Super Smash Bros. Ultimate====
| |
| In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Alph returns as a playable character accessible via Olimar's alternate costumes. Unlike in the previous game, Alph is an 'unlockable' character. Once again, his attacks and statistics are identical to Olimar's and (with the exception of the announcer, crowd, and character selection, all of which say and/or display his own name) the game does not acknowledge him as a separate character from Olimar in battle records and other miscellaneous aspects, such as Classic Mode.
| |
| | |
| In the opening cinematic of World of Light (the Adventure Mode of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), Alph is not seen among the various fighters who oppose Galeem, although he (alongside every other playable character) is captured by the god-like being, who later creates Puppet Fighters in his likeness. He later joins Kirby and the other playable characters in the battle to take back the universe from Galeem and Dharkon once Olimar (of whom Alph is an alternate model swap of) is rescued.

| |Alph is a young explorer who crashed on the planet PNF-404. As the engineer of the S.S. Drake, he feels responsible for finding the missing crew and the ship after the crash. Waking up in a pond, Alph quickly encounters a tiny creature— it's a Pikmin!

| |A member of the crew that crash-landed on PNF-404. This young engineer is separated from the rest of his team during landing, but as an engineer, he's just as worried about their ship, the SS Drake. | ==Trivia==
| |
| *According to design documents, at one point during development Alph was being considered as being a full separate playable character; he would have been a clone of Olimar, except with the addition of utilizing Rock Pikmin.
| |
| *He is the only playable character in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U to debut on the Wii U console.
