A Pause Block is a Special Block found In Super Mario Run. This block stops the character from moving when the Character's standing on it. To continue moving the player just needs to tap the screen so the pause block will release the character.

A Pause Block is a block in Super Mario Run that stops the character from moving when they are standing on it. The timer also stops when a character is on a Pause Block, except in Toad Rally. If the player taps the screen, the Pause Block will send the character in the direction shown, and the timer will resume. If the Pause Block points to the right, the character will do a roll and continue running after the player taps the screen; if the Pause Block points diagonally up to the right, the character will jump after the player taps the screen.
