- “There are red coins all over the place, aren't there? Weird.”
- —Pianta, Super Mario Sunshine
Red Coins of Windmill Village is the fourth episode of Bianco Hills in Super Mario Sunshine. The episode's objective is to collect the eight red coins scattered around the Windmill Village portion of the level.
Layout
For this mission only, eight red coins are placed around Windmill Village; none of the red coins are around the lake. Collecting all eight will cause the Shine Sprite to appear on the tallest windmill in the village. To collect all the red coins, the player needs to make use of the ropes and FLUDD's nozzles. Additionally, some ropes will have red Wire Traps moving along them and Wind Spirits will try to attack Mario if he is at higher altitudes. The locations of the red coins are:
- Three are located on the large wall, one directly above the open gate, another further along in a doorway next to the bells, and another at the end of the wall above the second coin.
- On top of the house closest to the large wall.
- In between the two ropes next to where the fourth red coin is.
- On top of the house below the tallest windmill.
- In the middle of the two large platforms that can be turned by spraying the sails.
- On top of the left roof of the house after the turning platforms.
If in this episode Mario talks to the tourist Pianta near the entrance to the Hillside Cave who gives him the Blue Coin after cleaning him, he tells him, "I heard something had happened here, so I came to check it out. But there’s nothing to see… Except for some filth I fell into!"
