| Moving platforms can be first encountered in the [[Tostarena Ruins]], where they move on tracks from one position to the other. While travelling to the next island during the [[Moon Shards in the Sand]] mission, [[Mario]] rides a moving platform above the canyon. Unlike other moving platforms, the ones encountered in this mission only start moving when Mario steps on them. Moving platforms also connect this island with the rest of the kingdom after obtaining the [[Power Moon]].
