Shouldn't the ''[[Super Smash Bros.]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' versions of this stage be two seperate articles? The introduction paragraph even states that they are two different stages and links to two different articles on the Smash Wiki. Doesn't make much sense to me that they're both on the same article. {{User:LuigiMaster123/sig}} 19:48, 8 August 2018 (EDT)

Mushroomy Kingdom[edit]

I think that Mushroomy Kingdom should be split from this page, it is a different stage with a different official name (unlike Rainbow Ride/Cruise, which has a different name but is the same environment). - Cobold (talk · contribs) 05:28, 23 January 2008 (EST)

I agree. Different name, different stage, not 8-bit and...it has many differences. It should be moved to its own article. Paperjorgesp.png Paper Jorge Paperjorgesp.png

I, Koopster 64 agree. As you can see, the stage, Mushroomy Kingdom, is a lot different from the Mushroom Kingdom we know today, so, we must move the Mushroomy Kingdom, to it's own article!

Mushroom Kingdom U[edit]

Should the Mushroom Kingdom U part of the article be moved to a new page and expanded on? It's quite different to the original stage. Giffy Stylish! 10:00, 1 August 2015 (EDT)

64 and Melee[edit]

Shouldn't the Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee versions of this stage be two seperate articles? The introduction paragraph even states that they are two different stages and links to two different articles on the Smash Wiki. Doesn't make much sense to me that they're both on the same article. Agreed. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 15:03, 28 September 2018 (EDT)
I agree, the stages seem to be different, especially since the N64 version is the one reappearing for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. --A sprite of a Flame Chomp from New Super Mario Bros. Wii.TheFlameChomp (talk) 15:06, 28 September 2018 (EDT)
Agree as well. Marie costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 21:53, 28 September 2018 (EDT)
Hmm, I'm thinking about contesting this a year and a half later. I feel due to the manner in which the graphics are overhauled in Ultimate, that it's more a "best of both worlds" combination of the two. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 03:24, February 20, 2020 (EST)
The thing is that Mushroom Kingdom isn't considered one of Melee's Past Stages, and while you can say that the layout looked closer to the original stage in an early build, all the other Past Stages are marked as "OLD" internally, so this seems more of a Planet Zebes / Brinstar & Sector Z / Corneria situation where the basic idea is the same but elements are tweaked enough to make it "new". Yeah, but...same could be said about Battlefield and Final Destination. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 13:19, February 20, 2020 (EST)
Most likely the developers don't consider Battlefield and Final Destination to be one of the old Past Stages because they are original stages that don't represent another series, not to mention that they can somewhat be considered "new" in that they are selectable instead of 1P exclusive. Yes, but that trend continues in later games. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:57, February 20, 2020 (EST)

I still see this as more an attempt at retooling the original that didn't fully carry through. Of note is how the totally different (but related) Mushroomy Kingdom has a joking variation on the title in multiple languages (including the special "Ancient" JP name), so that seems more where they decided to have them more as variants than iterations. With the exception of Nintendo 3DS limitations (and Ω and Battlefield forms and 8-Player Smash), I can't think of any significant instance where the gimmicks and layout of a returning stage were changed. Corneria and Brinstar only feature minor additions to Sector Z and Planet Zebes, but they're still considered new stages. In contrast, Mushroom Kingdom swaps some elements (semisolid Break Blocks, POW Blocks, functional Warp Pipes with Piranha Plants) with another (breakable Brick Blocks, ?
