The Yoshi puzzle series is a video game sub-series of the Yoshi franchise. It consists of puzzle games that Nintendo used the Yoshi franchise to brand in the 1990s. Although the exact gameplay varies from game to game, all of the games share the same basic gameplay, in that the player must direct objects to match them with other objects and clear them from the screen. The objects being directed varies, with some examples being enemies from the Mario franchise, Yoshi Cookies, and multi-colored blocks. The games often have little story, being primarily gameplay-focused. Some of the games feature characters from the Mario franchise while others possess a style based on that of the Yoshi's Island series. The series has not had a game released in over a decade.

Template:Release NES/Game Boy	The first Yoshi game, simply called Yoshi, is a two-dimensional puzzle game, with elements similar to those of Tetris. The rules are fairly basic: the player must stack the same enemies on top of each other to make them disappear; the more the player does this, the more points they earn.
Yoshi's Cookie
Template:Release NES/Game Boy/SNES	Just as Yoshi did, Yoshi's Cookie used many of the same elements found in Tetris. In order for the player to earn points and clear a stage, they have to have an entire row or column of the same type of cookie lined up. Six type of cookies could be found in the game: Heart Cookies, Sunflower Cookies, Green Cookies, Checkered Cookies, Donut Cookies, and Yoshi Cookies. A remake later appeared in Nintendo Puzzle Collection on the Nintendo GameCube, along with Dr. Mario and Panel De Pon.
Yoshi no Cookie: Kuruppon Oven de Cookie
Template:Release Super Famicom	Yoshi no Cookie: Kuruppon Oven de Cookie was a Japan-only edition of Yoshi's Cookie. It was developed by Human Electronics to promote their new Kuruppon oven. Only 500 copies were made of the game, and are now very expensive collector's items. It included the SNES version of Yoshi's Cookie and an additional mode which has Yoshi exploring an island and teaching the player some recipes the player can actually cook.
Tetris Attack
File:TAT.jpg Template:Release SNES/Game Boy	Tetris Attack was a puzzle game that, despite the name, had very little relation to Tetris. It was based around the Japanese game Panel de Pon, but themed around Yoshi and associated characters. The gameplay involved square panels rising from the bottom (called the "stack") and the player has to line up three or more matching panels either horizontally or vertically as the stack rises. The game was released on both the SNES and the Game Boy.

File:NPC.jpg Template:Release Nintendo GameCube	Nintendo Puzzle Collection is a compilation game featuring remakes of Yoshi's Cookie, Panel de Pon, and Dr. Mario 64. The version of Yoshi's Cookie featured in this game is a complete revamp of the original, featuring improved graphics and a new story mode. In the story, Mario and Yoshi become exhausted from delivering cookies, and Bowser steals the cookies from them as they sleep. The game was only released in Japan, as the planned release in other countries was canceled.
