Type | Bowser minigame |
Time limit | 30 seconds |
Tunnel of Lava! is a single-player Bowser minigame found in Mario Party 7. Its name is a pun on the name of the carnival ride "tunnel of love."
Introduction
A Mechakoopa eats a key, then runs off into a door. Moments later, a large group of Mechakoopas emerges from the door.
Gameplay
The player must jump on the Mechakoopas to find the one that swallowed the key. The Mechakoopas constantly rotate in a circle and move in and out, never breaking their formation. Occasionally, they will turn red and breathe fire, and touching their bodies or flames when this happens will stun the player temporarily. If the player finds the correct Mechakoopa within 30 seconds, they win, with the last of them fleeing.
Ending
The ending cutscene shows the surviving Mechakoopas fleeing into the same door that the Mechakoopa who stole the key fled into and exited with the rest of them at the start. If the player got the key, they run up to the large door at the end of the tunnel and escape by using the key on the door. The player celebrates their victory as this happens. Failure to get the key will cause a cutscene to play where Bowser crushes the character to death, laughs, and raises one of his fists in triumph.

Trivia
- The name of this minigame describes the location as opposed to the gameplay, despite the fact that all the single-player Bowser minigames are in the same location.
