Heads Up, Hop Up is the fifth level of World 1 in Yoshi's New Island. It is a vertically-scrolling level with a focus on jumping between moving Flatbed Ferries to reach the top. In this respect, and also for being the fifth level of the game, the level parallels the similarly athletic-styled Hop! Hop! Donut Lifts from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

Overview

Purple Yoshi starts the level in a grassy area with a Tap-Tap, an Egg Block, and a pipe nearby. The pipe leads to an area that scrolls upward, where he must climb up a network of Flatbed Ferries while avoiding Snifits to reach an area with Winged Clouds. The leftmost cloud holds a Spring Ball, which can be used to propel the Yoshi higher up. After navigating past some more Flatbed Ferries and enemies, Purple Yoshi reaches a pipe which brings him close to the Goal Ring.

Smiley Flowers

  Smiley Flower 1: Appears when Purple Yoshi falls in a small gap behind the first Snifit.

  Smiley Flower 2: Inside the third Winged Cloud in an area with four Winged Clouds.

  Smiley Flower 3: Appears by hitting the Winged Cloud found shortly after the previous area, at the right of a platform with a Tap-Tap.

• 

  Smiley Flower 4: Located at the top of a room with Tap-Taps, accessed by going into a pipe under a Snifit. Purple Yoshi can enter the pipe as a Flatbed Ferry moves under it.

  Smiley Flower 5: Held inside a hidden Winged Cloud at the top-right corner of the area with vertical scrolling, next to the pipe that leads to the end of the level.
