Battlefield is a non-selectable stage in the game Super Smash Bros. It also appears in the sequel, Super Smash Bros. Melee as an unlockable stage, and appears as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, it could be unlocked by completing the All-Star mode.
The stage has been designed specially for the Super Smash Bros. series and does not originate from any other Nintendo franchise.
Battlefield is a floating stage consisting of a big platform in the middle and three smaller platforms hovering above it. The stage does not have any side effects, just as Final Destination, which allows players to solely concentrate on the fight.
In Super Smash Bros., Battlefield was the stage were the Fighting Polygons would be battled. However, the stage could not be played in VS Mode. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, however, the Fighting Wire Frames and metal enemies were battled on it.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it is in a green landscape as opposed to space in the previous games. This even gives it the appearance of the Legend of Zelda or Fire Emblem series, and features a day and night system that changes as a Brawl goes on.
