Template:Distinguish2 Template:Species-infobox Template:Quote2 Clambos, generically named clams,[1] are underwater enemies from the Donkey Kong franchise. They are clams with a pair of eyes and a long tongue. Clambos first appear in Donkey Kong Country.
History
Donkey Kong Country
In Donkey Kong Country, Clambos lie on the seafloor, invulnerable to all attacks. They attack by spitting one to five pearls at Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong. Clambos debut in Coral Capers, but are more preponderant in the subsequent underwater level, Clam City. In the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country, a photograph of a Clambo can be found in Clam City.
During the game's development, Clambo was known as Ms. Clamity.[2]
Donkey Kong Land
Clambos also appear in Donkey Kong Land, where they are exclusive to the level "Nautilus Chase." However, instead of shooting pearls, they constantly open and close their shells. Donkey Kong Land also stars a notable Clambo, the Giant Clam, as the boss of the second world, Kremlantis. Unlike its smaller brethren, this colossal Clambo is capable of moving around in the water, having the ability to aim and shoot pearls at the Kongs at the same time.
Club Nintendo
Some Clambos can be seen in the Club Nintendo comic "Donkey Kong Country." One of them bites a Chomps which is trying to attack Diddy and Donkey Kong, in order to attack the Kongs itself.
