The Jumping Piranha Plant is a matured Piranha Pest that lodged in a pipe instead of rooting in the ground. So, instead of losing mobility, Jumping Piranha Plants keep the same body as the Piranha Pest, only losing flight. They wait in their pipes for prey to approach, and then jump high out of the pipe. In case they miss the prey, they slowly lower, so as to catch the prey on the retaliation. In some areas, when they jump out of their pipes they spit two fireballs.
Jumping Piranha Plants appear only in Super Mario World.
