Yoshi...ABANDONED?
Whatever happened to you working on Yoshi (franchise), Yoshi's Island (series), and the rest?
(talk · edits) 21:17, 11 November 2016 (EST)
- I thought you were working on it. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 21:18, 11 November 2016 (EST)
- Well, I was, but I thought you would too once you finished changing all instances of "Yoshi (series)" to "Yoshi (franchise)".
(talk · edits) 21:21, 11 November 2016 (EST)- I will need to double check all of that. If you want some advice on how to change the article, I will give you some, but I'm not completely sure what I am doing. I am figuring that these need to be similar to the other franchises. Nintendo Switch
About your edit to Nintendo Switch, the reference I used didn't mention the Japanese date. So don't you need a reference for that? If you don't want to bother with making the reference thing, I can do it if you give me the website that says the Japanese date.
(talk · edits) 22:02, 11 November 2016 (EST)
- According to the template, yes. I am not sure the exact place where the reference to be the best, but I am pretty sure I heard it on GameXplain (YouTube Channel which can be used as a reliable source until a better source can be found. Example: I found out about the Nintendo Switch announcement on the GameXplain page, but the reliable source is twitter). Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:14, 11 November 2016 (EST)
- I'm gonna see if I can find it on Nintendo of Japan's Twitter. If I can't find it, I'll use the video or somethng else.
(talk · edits) 22:18, 11 November 2016 (EST)- That was only an example. Explore all possible locations for a source to get the best one. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:20, 11 November 2016 (EST)
- Hold it! I looked it up, and at least 3 gaming news websites said that the presentation is an event happening at some place in Japan that will be live-streamed to other countries on Jan. 12. In other words, your source was wrong. I'll update the article later; I've gotta get off, partly because my brother wants me to play Super Mario Kart on Wii U Virtual Console with him. Adioas, Amigo!

Super Paper Mario bestiary
Hi. I saw you changed that top color to more of an indigo, but that looks odd. I was thinking a slightly lighter blue. Another thing, the Locations tab doesn't have enough room. Could you give it some space by shrinking Defense, Item Drops and Card Type?
(--) 10:30, 12 November 2016 (EST)
- About the Tattle column, it doesn't have enough room either. The Goomba section ended up about three or four times as tall just because of the tattle. Is there a way to put the tattle underneath all the other columns? If not, we could just do what was done in this bestiary and have the tattle stretch off the side.
- (--) 10:36, 12 November 2016 (EST)
- We shouldn't include Card Location or Rarity, as that's covered in List of Catch Cards.

Paper Mario: Color Splash bestiary
Okay, I'm just starting work on the bestiary. It's nothing really right now, I'm using the Sticker Star bestiary as a base to work off of, and I am waiting on the stats from The RPG Gamer, but it's a start. Go here to watch my progress, and use the talk page there for any future discussion about this.-- 21:31, 14 November 2016 (EST)
- It took me all day, but I think I finally figured out the best looking template for each enemy in the bestiary. PMCS bestiary -- 19:00, 15 November 2016 (EST)
About list of catch cards
You could've just moved it. It's a lot more convenient than simply cut pasting. If you do move it, the old name will be a redirect just in case you don't know. (talk) (edits) 23:24, 14 November 2016 (EST)
- I believe you missed the entirety of this conversation here, RPG Gamer. 23:25, 14 November 2016 (EST)
- And I know about the move. I probably just stick with just cutting and pasting my talk page unless there is no one to move an official article. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 23:27, 14 November 2016 (EST)
Co-worker Userbox
Hi there. I added transparency to my main image, the one used in my Co-worker-henchman userbox. You might want to swap out the colors, with a black main-background and a green code-background, instead of the other way around. The way it is now, the lightning bolts clash with the background.

Bestiary/Enemybox Proposal?
I took a small break from filling out the bestiary (which I still need the stats for) to rework the Color Splash enemy box. It took me awhile to figure out, but I eventually came up with an excellent design.
This is how the enemy box usually looks (ignore that the "upload images" aren't there.):
Template:Pmcsenemy
{{Pmcsenemy |align=horizontal }}
Here, the only variable being used is align, which you use to chose how the box will look and align, so this varies between pages. The other variables are used to give the other stats.
Now shown below is how I've retooled the enemy box.
Paper Mario: Color Splash enemy | |||||||||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Goomba | |||||||||||||||||||||
HP | 6 | Type | Normal | Role | Common | Card | |||||||||||||||
Strong | None | Weak | None | Card drop rate | 5 | ||||||||||||||||
Moves | Head Attack (3), Group Attack (3), Blowback Attack (6) | ||||||||||||||||||||
Location(s) | Port Prisma, Daffodil Peak, The Crimson Tower, Sunglow Ridge, Mondo Woods, The Golden Coliseum, Sacred Forest | ||||||||||||||||||||
Quotes | Usual: "Goomba power!" ~ "I'm small, but I won't give up!" ~ "I WILL AVENGE MY FAMILY!" ~ "I am a bit tired of being stomped." The Golden Coliseum if encountered in arena: "I may be weak, but I'm...also slow." ~ "I'm just a simple country Goomba..." ~ "I'll never give up!" ~ "Goombakalaka!" | ||||||||||||||||||||
Enemy class | |||||||||||||||||||||
ENEMY_KINOKO | |||||||||||||||||||||
Dropped items | |||||||||||||||||||||
|
The only difference is that the stats, name, and images are all there now, right? Wrong, because this is the exact code that's displaying this enemy box:
{{:Paper Mario: Color Splash bestiary|transcludesection=Goomba |align=horizontal }}
Again, only the align variable is active, but where is all the other info coming from, you ask? It's simple.
THE BESTIARY
That's right! I've made it so that you can place down that line of code on the enemy page and voila! The stats come straight from the bestiary; the left and right aling work as well. In doing this we not only save time adding in enemy boxes to a page, but we also make sure all information in it will always be the same as what's written on the bestiary.
Now, I want some input here. I think this method should be used for all the enemy boxes and bestiaries on the wiki, but I don't know if I should make a proposal about it, or only have it for color splash. And if I do make a proposal, I don't think I'd be very good at presenting all my thoughts and have them be easily understood, or if people would even agree with me!!!-- 21:13, 19 November 2016 (EST)
- Looks good. Before making a Proposal, I have some questions:
- How are the stats added?
- What will you do if the images need to be different on the two pages the template is on?
- The Koopalings don't drop cards. EVER. Would you make a note of that?
- Will it work for all bestiary/bestiary creators?
- Are there any flaws in this design?
- How long will it take to change all of the bestiaries and the enemies that link to them?
- Is it really necessary to change all of them? (this is not a rhetorical question, it is asking what you think)
- How will you deal with other people's concerns that I may be missing?
- and How long do you need the proposal to be?

- How are the stats added?
- The stats can be edited from the bestiary page, which only I can edit for now until I move it. For now I've setup a redirect.
- What will you do if the images need to be different on the two pages the template is on?
- They shouldn't need to be different, but I can edit it to allow the image to be different if need be.
- The Koopalings don't drop cards. EVER. Would you make a note of that?
- No. For all color splash enemies that don't drop cards, it'll just say "None" in place of a card image.
- Will it work for all bestiary/bestiary creators?
- It should. I haven't tested this with the bestiaries that use tables instead of templates yet. If it doesn't work, then maybe those bestiaries will require an alternate method, or be converted to using templates instead of tables.
- Are there any flaws in this design?
- Could you elaborate more on this? For the moment, I can't think of any.
- How long will it take to change all of the bestiaries and the enemies that link to them?
- Well, as I mentioned above, this will work with templates, but I haven't tested tables yet. Once I figured out how to make this fully work with color splash, It was quick to change each thing entry I'd done so far. All it took was copy pasting a bunch of times on the bestiary and changing parameters to match the enemy name.
- Is it really necessary to change all of them? (this is not a rhetorical question, it is asking what you think)
- I'd think so, yes. The stats provided in the bestiaries are the exact same as the stats in the enemy boxes on other rpgs. T|Since the bestiary is the full collection of all enemy stats for a game, it should be the source page that each and every enemy box would draw it's information from.
- How will you deal with other people's concerns that I may be missing?
- I'd try to explain why something is the way it is and if they make a reasonable point I'd see about making modifications. Other than that, I don't really know. I'm not used to this.

- What do you mean?
- And by the looks of it, the proposal is about ready. All you need to do is keep testing the Color Splash Bestiary. And before making the proposal, why don't you test out the proposal on your work page. You may want to edit it as you do the Color Splash Bestiary and you definitely don't want to lose it during the editing. And I look forward to voting in on the proposal. (Note: I think the Proposal should be about unity of the bestiaries. Have the first option the template you are suggesting. The Second option to make all thing tables even if you don't think they are necessary. And a third option to oppose the unity.) Yoshi the SSM (talk) 00:17, 20 November 2016 (EST)

- To clarify, when I mentioned an "alternate method" I meant how it would detect the information on the bestiary. I did give the other bestiaries a look and the current method will not work. I will have to either come up with an alternative method or convert them to templates. If I end up going with the later, I will certainly just reuse the enemybox templates for those games.

- I think you should do it. You are the one making the changes to Color Splash bestiary and you doing it will help make the proposal stronger since you know what exactly you're doing. I get somewhat of an idea by just looking. You will do just fine. You can use what you gave me and The RPG Gamer and modify it a little bit. - Follow up on the option with the most votes. You will be the one who has first grabs, but you can ask people to help you or they can ask you. If you didn't vote for the option and that option passes (but it didn't in this case), then first grabs go to supporters but you can still enforce get first grabs if you want. If it is do nothing option, then nothing is done after the proposal passes. One more thing, do you think you can let Ultimate Mr. L do Super Paper Mario bestiary? You can change the enemy templates so that they will translude, but you should let him do it (since he did it more recently). You can help start him out, too. Your vote
You forgot to put a number symbol before your vote in the APNG proposal. I would fix it myself, but I'm not 100% sure that I'm allowed to.

- Here's the template you'll need: template:BISbestiary
- Everything should be self explanatory since it's almost no different from placing the enemy boxes. But, I do have a few pointers:
- Whatever you put next to
|altname=
needs to be exactly what you replaceNAME
with. However, no two enemies on the page can have the sameNAME
.- Don't worry about setting up the link. By default,
|name=
is used to link the Enemy's name to it's article. If you get to an enemy that uses extra text likeBowser (2)
, use|altname=
To display it that way. The link is setup link this[[name|altname]]
.
- Don't worry about setting up the link. By default,
- Please don't alter the code of the template.
- Oh, and for the
|role=
, this is the replacement method for using Bold, Italic, Bold and Italic, and Bold First Letter to indicate what kind of enemy it is.- Use these:
common, miniboss, boss, support, optional
- Use these:
- Finally, don't change
|align={{{align|right}}}
because this is the way to change the alignment of the enemybox.
- If you want to replace the enemybox on every page, replace them with this
{{:Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story bestiary|transcludesection=NAME |align= }}
- If you have any questions, feel free to talk to me. Other than that, Good luck!
-- 01:47, 3 December 2016 (EST)
- So, there are only two bestiaries left to be converted: Super Paper Mario, and Bowser's Inside Story. Have you finished BiS yet?-- 20:11, 7 January 2017 (EST)
- No. But, I will try to get it done before the Nintendo Switch Presentation. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:24, 7 January 2017 (EST)
- I'm going to get the SPM bestiary done since it's clear no-one else I asked will. Did you replace all the existing BiS enemyboxes with the transclusion?-- 10:11, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- No I haven't. And I don't really have the time. If you want to do it, you need to do something first. MAKE SURE THAT NOTHING IS LOST WHEN YOU TRANSCLUSED. This means that anything that is missing from the bestiary that it needs to be gotten from the other places, fill that out. What you need to fill out is: Challenge Medal stats, related, and (if needed) links that can be found on those pages. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 10:33, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- Slight hiccup. Some of the stats present on the enemy pages differ from what is in the bestiary, notably the ones ending in a "?". Which ones should be used, what is present in the bestiary or whats present on the enemy pages?-- 12:36, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- I say use the bestiary for the stats that conflict. That is what I was planning on doing. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 12:57, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- I don't know. It seems the first time the "?" stats were added on the enemy pages, from the few I looked at, wer edone so in 2016, long after they were added on the bestiary. It's possible these were updated stats, more accurate and unaware that they needed to be changed on the bestiary too.-- 13:09, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- ? stats means that it is questionable that those stats exist. Since the bestiary has the same stats, it is likely that they figured out that those stats may be false and updated the enemy stats with ? stats. On a bestiary, it doesn't look that good. I say keep the bestiary stats and if somebody finds out that those stats are wrong and has proof of true stats, then they can change the bestiary. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 13:17, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- Please don't snip edit again.-- 16:34, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- Snip edit? Is replacing optinal with optional to make sure it is correct a snip edit? That is all I was trying to do. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 16:38, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- I was in the middle of working on the page.-- 17:08, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- Yeah. It is really hard to tell if someone else is working on the page. I had people who finished with their changes when I was making other changes and it won't let me make those changes unless I wrote it again (even if it is copy and paste). But, I don't complain about it. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 17:15, 23 February 2017 (EST)

- I'm going to get the SPM bestiary done since it's clear no-one else I asked will. Did you replace all the existing BiS enemyboxes with the transclusion?-- 10:11, 23 February 2017 (EST)
- No. But, I will try to get it done before the Nintendo Switch Presentation. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:24, 7 January 2017 (EST)
- So, there are only two bestiaries left to be converted: Super Paper Mario, and Bowser's Inside Story. Have you finished BiS yet?-- 20:11, 7 January 2017 (EST)
Hilarious Typo
You know that stuff you put on your userpage about The Live Animal Christmas Play? It has a funny typo. You accidentally wrote Mario Avenue Baptist Church instead of Marion Avenue Baptist Church. What makes it so funny is that the typo is on the Super Mario Wiki!

Paper Jam
Homebrew
With User:Wildgoosespeeder's help, I've managed to put homebrew on my 3ds system in order get pixel perfect screenshots for the paper enemies. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the eshop version, the one I bought, will work for this. Do you have the game and if so is it a cartridge?-- 00:24, 18 December 2016 (EST)
- Yes, I prefer actual games. But I am considering buying GameCube Games on the Switch due to a Nintendo System being the most reliable source for buying games, and since the internet is the only place to find them plus the fact that the internet can deceive you, Virtual Console is the only option. I am just looking into it, that's all. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 00:33, 18 December 2016 (EST)
- Okay, I have three options for you:
- Get homebrew on your 3DS to confirm if the cartridge version WILL work and/or get the screenshots yourself.
- Don't get homebrew and instead mail the cartridge to me so I can find out and then send it back after.
- Don't help me at all and I have to shell out the money to buy the game a second time when I don't even know if it will work.
- -- 00:40, 18 December 2016 (EST)
- I could use homebrew to update something besides the bestiary, too. I am tired, so I will figure out homebrew in the afternoon tomorrow or some time on Monday. If homebrew fails, I will let you know as soon as I find out. This also goes if I find it is successful. Option 2 is not an option taking, due to I don't know who you are exactly. You could try to convince me, but with the internet, you can't be 100% sure. Lastly, good night. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 00:47, 18 December 2016 (EST)
- Alright, thanks. Though unless you have Freaky Forms Deluxe or Cubic Ninja, you probably won't be able to do option 1. I did just realize I could try buying it through amazon and then getting a refund/returning it.-- 00:55, 18 December 2016 (EST)
- I woke up this morning, and heard on the news that Amazon is having some delays. Please consider this information before you buy it. And, I have no idea what those two are. I believe that I should play the game the way it was meant to. Basically, this means no hacking nor using glitches until I have completed the game. But, I only used glitches and not hacks. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 08:21, 18 December 2016 (EST)
- I research the two names, and I found out that they are games. What is so special about these two games that make homebrewing work?
- The are used as exploits to load homebrew onto the 3DS, and are two of the very few methods that work with the current 3DS updates. Really, you'd need one of those two games to get homebrew.-- 01:41, 20 December 2016 (EST)
- Then good luck with the homebrew. Unless there is another method to use with my 2DS, homebrewing for me won't be happening. I could always use my computer to take pictures, but it would not be the best and I can only do it in the dark. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 16:10, 20 December 2016 (EST)
- That's... That's not what I need screenshots for. I need to do it this way to get screenshots that are pixel perfect so I can crop out the sprites of the paper enemies. pBut thaIsnks anyways.-- 16:32, 20 December 2016 (EST)
- OK. Sorry if I couldn't help you out. By the way, if the homebrew works, you could probably upload some battle cards from Paper Jam and put them on this page. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 16:38, 20 December 2016 (EST)

Soundhax
- There's a new homebrew exploit! It's called soundhax and it uses the 3DS Sound app. As far as I can tell, it works on every vesion of the 3DS firmware, as well as with the New 3DS and Old 3DS. If you could do this, I still need to know if the Paper Jam cartridge will work with the HANS software in homebrew.-- 20:21, 28 December 2016 (EST)
- I tried playing the sound and it restarted the 2DS. I am pretty sure I got all the steps correct. The only question I have is: Did I put it in the right location? (I put it on the top level of the SD card.) Is there something special I need to do that the site didn't say to do? By the way, I tried get a screenshot from Super Mario 3D Land, but I am not sure if I getting the screenshot right (it won't take a screenshot in game). Is there anything I am missing? Yoshi the SSM (talk) 13:43, 18 January 2017 (EST)
- Yes, the sound file is supposed to be on the top level of the SD card. When you play it, the screes should go black with a bunch of stuff going on. if it seems to freeze during this, turn off the system and do it again. If you're not getting that black screen with stuff happening, make sure you did everything right, and I'll walk you through each step over on the wiki chat. This is the official site now to get the sound file, btw.-- 16:17, 18 January 2017 (EST)

Naming Battle Cards
- I'm going to start getting screenshots of the Paper Jam Battle Cards, however the cards have no names in the game. Because of this, I have no idea how to do the filenames for the cards. Can you help me?-- 13:51, 10 February 2017 (EST)
- Sure, but I only have 124 out of 154 of the battle cards. I think to be consistent with the naming, each one should be "MLPJ BC(Type)(Name)" with (Type) being replaced with the level of the card (Weak, Average, Strong, Super Strong, Weak Shiny (equals an Average, but costs less) and Strong Shiny) and (Name) being replaced with the effect. Below is a list of the 124 Battle Cards I have. Note: I may not have the right first names on some/naming system on shinies. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 14:55, 10 February 2017 (EST)
- Thanks.-- 15:10, 10 February 2017 (EST)
- Actually, I'm very confused. Would you mind placing these filenames in their proper place on the Battle Card (Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam) page? I have no clue which card each of these names is referring to.-- 16:00, 10 February 2017 (EST)
- I am not entirely sure how to do it on the page so I will add what they do and how much they cost to each one on the list. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 16:34, 10 February 2017 (EST)
- By the way, if you can find out where to get the shiny cards, can you put it next to the non-shiny way to get the same card. I have 151 out of 154 cards gotten. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:43, 10 February 2017 (EST)

Trivia
Sorry, I completely forgot about the Beach Volley mode in Mario Party 4. Maybe the triva should implied this to avoid confusion? --(TALK) 23:22, 19 December 2016 (EST)
- I don't know what to say exactly, but sounds like a good idea. Want to hear an interesting fact that you may have over looked? Mario Party Advance is the only handheld not to introduce any new characters if Beach Volley doesn't count for introducing new characters. If so, Mario Party DS is the other handheld not to introduce new characters. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 23:30, 19 December 2016 (EST)

RE:SMG Mecha-Bowser
I am presently in the middle of writing the Heavy Metal Mecha-Bowser mission, where it talks about Mecha-Bowser in full detail, as the information is relevant. There is a link to the mission already in Mecha-Bowser's Super Mario Galaxy section.
I was not aware of the proposal until after I had made the move. According to the edit history, the page was created because LinkTheLefty (talk) assumed the name wasn't hyphenated, when it actually is. The mission name was originally assumed to be "Heavy-Metal Mecha Bowser", but it appears no one actually bothered to check until now. The two Mecha-Bowsers are clearly different, however, so maybe another proposal could be made, as the original one went off of false info. Perhaps I'll make that soon, and the SMG version will be called Mecha-Bowser (Super Mario Galaxy)? 12:26, 1 May 2017 (EDT)
- Additionally, a proposal can become nulled when new information is made available (or if the information has been there for a while and it was misread). I am done writing the mission page, so I'll see what kind of proposal I can come up with. 12:37, 1 May 2017 (EDT)
Rosalina
Prima Guides are known to make several mistakes. Rosalina has been never addressed as a princess in any game, just because she wears a crown, doesn't make her royalty, Bowser doesn't wear a crown, yet he is the King of Koopas and Wart wears a crown and he is not a king, the crown only symbolizes his status as the leader of the 8-bits much like Rosalina is the leader of the Lumas. Her being a princess is just speculation and our wiki should focus on facts not the former. --CastleResearch (talk) 16:14, 3 May 2017 (EDT)
Summaries
Just want to say that it might be best to avoid going into too much detail about your personal life in the edit summaries. There's no need to do that, and the info will remain in the page history, which may not be a good thing. Just a simple "I have to stop working now" or something similar will do. 12:56, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
- I always like explaining why I stopped. Gives a little context for doing it. Thanks for telling me anyways. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 13:03, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
Re: Super Mario Challenge
- YouTube
- Am going to upload images left of each remaining levels.
- I would choose the Super Maker Mario design, No need for an article page for Super Mario Challenge, just make a section on Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS.
Also, please make sure you recheck your writing. See if Writing guidelines will help you. L151
That's okay, Users here will eventually rewrite and correct them.

Parabuzzies
Hello! To answer the question you asked on your edit summary when you created World 8-2 (Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS), the Wiki considers all of the flying Buzzy Beetles in Super Mario Maker to be Parabuzzies. --TheFlameChomp (talk) 20:30, 26 June 2017 (EDT)
RE:YouTube Artwork
My own YouTube banner is actually too large and terrible. I need to update everything :P
I'll see what I can do about the image. 12:03, 27 June 2017 (EDT)
- Here you go. Dimensions are based on the recommendation YouTube gave me (2560 x 1440), and I filled in the excess with the red. 12:11, 27 June 2017 (EDT)

Thanks for the link! It really helped me a lot, and answered all of my questions! 21:32, 12 July 2017
Fun Rules
Heh heh, you blatantly ripped me off again. I say again because of when you started doing game comparisons right after I put up the SMG vs. SMG2 thing.
(talk · edits) 18:08, 17 July 2017 (EDT)
- To be fair, though, Luigi 64DD based his rule box on mine :P 18:12, 17 July 2017 (EDT)
- Yeah. Besides the second one (which is my own, but based on what I have on the Mario Boards), I just based it off of yours. Made a few tweaks so that it wasn't too obvious, but yeah. Do you like the rules, though? Yoshi the SSM (talk) 18:26, 17 July 2017 (EDT)
Re: Splits
Yeah, I'm actually curious to see how the remake will handle some of the stuff the wiki split. Though honestly, it won't surprise me if they don't change any of the enemy names. Niiue (talk) 22:59, 15 September 2017 (EDT)

Hey, your edit summary here is a bit rude, what with the "Can't you read" and all. Just lettin' you know. Niiue (talk) 20:16, 19 September 2017 (EDT)
Lake Kingdom
In that video, he was clearly speculating (note the word "may"). However, the postcard that was uploaded clearly depicts the same location, as it has identical columns, and the "sand" is also textured the exact same way. We've seen underwater in the Seaside Kingdom, and it doesn't have ruins. You're using someone's guess as official word, over official images offering a different, but more definitive, argument. Not trying to come off as rude, but I'm in a hurry as I have to leave soon. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:27, 6 October 2017 (EDT)
- Thanks for at least trying to explain this. Also, the image that keeps changing status is also on the Seaside Kingdom page. I don't have an other counter arguments, so... Yoshi the SSM (talk) 16:39, 6 October 2017 (EDT)
SMR
So I got busy with the SMR level icons. I'm still working on the World Star levels. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 12:24, 1 December 2017 (EST)
- I saw it before you put it on my talk page. Looks good. I was thinking of changing the colors of worlds 2-6 to match in-game color, but I don't think it's required. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 12:29, 1 December 2017 (EST)
- I'll let you play around with it. The colours would add a visual flair to the page, but it may also be too distracting. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 12:40, 1 December 2017 (EST)
- If you head to my Wiki Work Space of my userpage, you will see the colors. Other than that, the only thing I can think of is bubble shaped like it is in-game. Otherwise, nothing to play around with. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 12:50, 1 December 2017 (EST)

RE: Proposal rule
First off, apologies for getting back to you so late. I understand where you're coming from with your suggested change, but personally I feel the rule works as is. Obviously if a proposal can't be overturned, then no proposal should be created to do so. I feel what happened was an isolated incident. Yoshi876 (talk)
RE:Question
I have not played Odyssey or Bowser's Minions, so apologies if I made a mistake there. I thought List of Super Mario Odyssey music was under a media title as well, but I guess not. I'll move it back once the destination page is deleted, but the media nav stuff can remain, and a media nav could be added to Odyssey's page as well. 12:06, 11 December 2017 (EST)
MLSS+BM soundtrack
You need help? Take a look at how I did the Super Mario Odyssey music page.-- 18:48, 11 December 2017 (EST)
- Yes I need help, but for uploading files, not the layout. Although, this does give me an idea on the layout. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 18:52, 11 December 2017 (EST)
- I'd recommend following what I did for the Mario + Rabbids Soundtrack, which would keep the rows thinner and still have the ability to play the song. What's the problem with uploading?-- 18:54, 11 December 2017 (EST)
- The version I have and the version you mention are basically the same in terms of how it looks, so it doesn't really matter. As for uploading, I am unable to upload due to not having the files to upload. I don't know how to get them. I haven't really worried about it because I never needed to do them. And my browser doesn't support listening to them on the web. Although, I could open up Chrome on my computer to listen to them. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 10:38, 12 December 2017 (EST)
- Try here.-- 14:13, 12 December 2017 (EST)

RE:Lightning
I'm doing this by the former Green Star example. At one time, the Green Stars from SMG and SMG2 were split from the Green Stars in SM3DW. Efforts to merge were strongly opposed until in one such proposal, a user found a link to an official interview with SM3DW's developers, confirming that both Green Stars were one and the same. Tying this into Lightning, there is no confirmation that the move is the same as the item, even if similar effects occur. In order for them to be merged, we need an actual confirmation that they're the same. We don't merge, say, Fire Bros. (move) with Fire Flower for this reason, even though they both involve fireballs and burn opponents. (T|C) 13:27, 29 December 2017 (EST)
- I seriously don't agree with the "the two Lightnings are more similar to each other than the Green Stars" argument, so you're welcome to make a proposal about it if you wish. (T|C) 13:57, 29 December 2017 (EST)
I elaborated on my oppose vote on this proposal, which I think you might want to comment on, especially regarding the last point. (T|C) 16:10, 18 January 2018 (EST)
Minion Quest story
I've got the evidence to say that Nintendo said it was an untold story. You want to see the original trailer? Lcrossmk8 (talk) 23:08, 28 January 2018 (EST)
- And the Mario Bros never see the Koopalings. Again, the story is told from the Mario Bros side and the Captain Goomba side, and both don't encounter each other despite them both having a big impact on the other, unless you count Bowser's Castle. I don't see the retconning. Lcrossmk8 (talk) 23:32, 28 January 2018 (EST)

Re:Draft proposal
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to decline your requested changes for the following reasons (based on your corresponding points):
- Well, while that is true, I brought up Cosmic Adventure because A) I intentionally didn't mention the category, since that's only a tiny part of my focus, and B) some users might be inclined to add it to the category anyways.
- I already provided a handful of examples that "fit the bill". While, yes, I may not have covered every example, there are still some entries in the category that make no sense, such as World 9 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii), Superstar Road, and the Moon Kingdom. In the case of the former two, for all we know, they could just be set in the sky at night to mimic a typical cosmic theme for Mario standards.
- What does the Star Trek subject have to do with this? This isn't about banning all instances of "deep space", it's about banning "outer space", "deep space", etc. where they would be used as generic terms.
I know you're trying to help, but it seems that even you are overlooking this proposal. I know you looked it up on Wikipedia, but I looked up "cosmic" and "outer space" on Wiktionary, which is what I'm basing this on. And, yes, "cosmic" isn't a perfect term, it's concise and professional enough, and I have yet to find a more suitable term anyways. (T|C) 18:50, 21 March 2018 (EDT)
RE:Mini-Land Mayhem
Thank you for your answer. It would be lovely if you could add some more info in the "Play and Edit" section, if there's more to it. Otherwise, I'm planning on expanding the "Share" section and also write about the "Challenge Mode" myself, hence the construction template. But any help would be appreciated nevertheless. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 13:44, 22 March 2018 (EDT)
- Hey man, don't forget to check what I added to the Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem page; the Construction Zone section is now done! I used the instruction manual, the official website and this video as sources, but still nothing beats the game itself I think, so I encourage you to step in and correct inaccuracies. For example, I'm not sure the Challenge Mode is completely gone forever, though I consistently referred to it in past tense. There may be some parts you can still access, no?
Anyway, there's another mission I have for you to improve this page. Whenever you can, will you please write a section on the game's Help Mode and add all the in-game tips that you can find there? Look what I've done here, for example. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 09:02, 30 March 2018 (EDT)
I am very very close to nominating the article for a feature. I have one last thing for you to do, if it's not bothering you: can you please look into the Options menu and tell me what do the unlockables in the Audio and Gallery sections consist of? I have to write about those, as well as the game's reception section, and we're done! -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 04:41, 2 April 2018 (EDT)
SMM3DS levels
Thanks for your work on the Mario Maker 3DS levels. For clearer legibility, you should try splitting the information down into separate paragraphs if you can. One sub-area can be one paragraph, for example. Just some advice! Mario JC 01:27, 24 March 2018 (EDT)
Super Mario Maker Edit Thanks!
SuperStringMuon (talk)Thanks for editing my Mario Maker glitch tutorial! I din't know about the new version. Also, I fixed a couple of grammar mistakes in your rules. Thanks! Also, what is your idea for a SMM Deluxe or 2 on the Switch?
- Yeah. Don't fix people's grammar on things that are part of theirs (including comments on talk pages) without permission, but it is ok for the main articles because they are in about the articles. But, you're welcome for that info. As for the idea, I am more towards a 2, but Deluxe is fine. Then again, it hasn't been announced. But, SMB2 (USA) is an idea of what they should add. But, it plays very very different from the others. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 11:24, 29 March 2018 (EDT)
Not wanting to sound rude
If you don't want to sound rude, saying "you didn't make an effort to (x)" in any tone at all is extremely unwise. Just saying. I was finally blocked after saying "what possessed to you do that" twice in quick succession, so just because it might not sound rude to you, doesn't mean it won't on the other end. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:14, 6 April 2018 (EDT)
- This is why I said I don't to be rude: 1. It gives a "Really?" in a bad way (which I didn't want due to him being an admin) kind of look to a "Just letting you know about this" in a good way kind of look. It wasn't about it being rude to me, it was about being rude to him. I can't really do anything about him except respect him of being an admin. Which leads me to the other point. 2. It shows that I still respect him even though I asking/stating why he didn't do something. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 20:56, 6 April 2018 (EDT)
- I was saying that using that wording will sound rude to most people you use said wording towards. Hence, towards the sysop recipient. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:05, 6 April 2018 (EDT)
