Track Star (minigame)

Track Star is a 1-vs.-3 minigame in Mario Party DS.

Gameplay

One player chases the other three using a Toy Steamer on a track with three forks. The three runners each choose a path, as well as the player on the Toy Steamer. The objective of the group players are to avoid being rammed off the track, while the solo player must eliminate the group players by picking the same path as them, and then speeding up to hit them. Upon picking the same path as a group player(s), the solo has five seconds to try to ram them; the group player(s) in question must tap two buttons repeatedly and simultaneously to avoid getting knocked away.

The solo player wins if they ram all three opponents off the track, while the group players win if any of them survive through all of the rounds.

Solo (1 player)

• Rules – "Nudge your three opponents with your train by picking a path, then pressing repeatedly to outrun them."
• Tips – "If you select a track that opponents are on, tap when behind them to run into them."

Group (3 players)

• Rules – "Avoid getting nudged by your rival's train! Pick a path in the hopes that the train goes down the other one. You can outrun the train by pressing buttons."
• Tips – "Don't run down the same track as your teammates if you can help it. Only one of you needs to survive for your team to win."
