A(n) X-Yux (pronounced Cross-Yux1) is an upgrade of the original Yux found in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It spawns two Mini-X-Yuxes each round, up to a maximum of four per X-Yux. As always, it's invincible while Mini-X-Yuxes are surrounding it. When a(n) X-Yux is surrounded by four Mini-X-Yuxes, it shoots five beams at Mario and his partner. Each has the potential to make Mario Immobilized, so one should try to Superguard.

Note
1As stated above, the word "X-Yux" is thought to be pronounced "Cross-Yux" rather than "Ex-Yux", or so Goombella says in her Tattle for the creature. However, oddly, even her Tattle still uses the article adjective "an" to describe X-Yuxes, which would be grammatically incorrect if one is to pronounce "X-Yux" as "Cross-Yux", seemingly making the point of the pronunciation of "X-Yux" moot. On a somewhat-related note, it is unknown if other "X-" characters, such as the X-Nauts themselves, should be pronounced with an "Ex" sound or a "Cross" sound.
