The Buckle is an item in the PC release of Mario's Time Machine. It is a shoe buckle that was used to pay Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart after one of his performances. After Mario travels back in time to Vienna circa 1791, he receives the Buckle from Constanze Mozart, who offhandedly gives it to him during their conversation. Nearby, an opera singer needs to find a shoe buckle for his costume and refuses to talk to Mario about Mozart until he finds one. After Mario gives him the Buckle, he takes it (while dryly accepting that Mario is occasionally useful) and continues to give Mario more information about Mozart.
