Astro goombas are a sub species of regular Goombas that appear in Super Mario Galaxy. They wear metal helmets that make them impervious to jumping, and must be struck by Mario's spin attack to reveal their weak underbelly. Overall, not the strongest of opponents. So far, they are yet to appear in any other Mario games, but I would expect to see them again.
