Power Flowers are ability granting flowers found only in Super Mario 64 DS. Their functions seem to replace Mario's cap abilities, with an extra addition. When Mario uses a Power Flower, he is able to float for a short time, familiar to the P Balloon in Super Mario World. At certain times, the ! Block will give Mario a feather which will allow him to fly (same as Wing Cap). If Luigi uses one, he becomes partially immaterial and can move through certain objects to get to new places (same as Vanish Cap). If Wario uses one, he become metal and can walk at normal speed underwater and can withstand great winds (same as Metal Cap). When Yoshi uses a Power Flower, he is able to breathe fire (first seen in Super Mario World).
