Corkscrew is Wario's up special move in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Wario spins into the air, in a similar way to Mario's Star Spin from the Super Mario Galaxy games. He can only spin straight upwards, however. The attack does a significant amount of damage if performed at the proper time, often leading to combos, but the attack is mainly thought of as a recovery move. When used in the air as a recovery move, there is a blue swirl underneath him, but nothing on the ground.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Corkscrew has one of two custom variants: Widescrew and Corkscrew Leap. Widescrew has increased horizontal movement, but it deals less damage. Corkscrew Leap has a better recovery option that gives a farther leap, but it doesn't do any damage.
