Template:Minigame-infobox Ion the Prize is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 8, as well as a single-player minigame in Test for the Best. Its name comes from the phrase "eyes on the prize," which means staying focused on the positive outcome or goal.
Introduction
The two players are in some sort of space lab and are encased in capsules. A yellow see-saw-like object appears above them. The game then begins.
Gameplay
The objective is to sort as many green and pink balls into their proper containers as possible by tilting the yellow plate by using the Wii Remote. The balls fall down at a steady rate, and the colors have no pattern. During the last five seconds, the speed of the balls increases substantially. The player that sorts more balls correctly within the time limit wins. If neither player sorts any balls or if both players sort the same number of balls correctly, the minigame ends in a tie.
Ending
The winner cheers as the pink and green containers retract into the alcoves on either side of the player, the metallic doors close, and the nozzle on the ceiling retracts, replaced by a hologram of a swirling fireball. If the minigame ends in a tie, nothing else will happen as "Tie" appears on the screen.
Test for the Best
In Test for the Best, the player plays alone in this minigame and must sort as many balls to the right color as possible within 30 seconds. The scores required to earn a certain point total are as follows:
