Template:Minigame-infobox Shake It Up is a 4-Player and Duel minigame in Mario Party 8. Its name may be a reference to the song "Shake It Up" by The Cars. The game takes place in some sort of city.

Introduction

A character goes over to a table with soda cans. The character grabs a soda can and walks back to where the three other players are (one in the Duel version). The minigame starts shortly after that.

Gameplay

The characters have to shake their soda cans (with the Wii Remote) as fast as they can for five seconds. Then the characters open the cans, and soda comes flying up like a fountain. The character who shook their can the most makes the soda produce the biggest soda fountain of the two or four characters, and wins the minigame. However, if no one shakes the cans, the minigame ends in a tie.

Ending

The winning character has a glass of soda in their hand and then does a winning pose while still holding the soda. The three losers (one in the Duel version) do(es) (a) losing pose(s). If no one shook the cans, the cans disappear and the players do their losing animations.

Controls

  • Wii Remote: Shake can
  • Buttons: None

In-game text

  • Rules"Shake your can of soda pop. After 5 seconds, everyone will open their cans. Make your can spew highest."
  • Hint"Don't get too crazy when shaking your can. Small, fast shakes do the trick better than big ones."
