Plot synopsis
In the beginning of the episode, Mario and his friends are riding on camels in Pyramid Land, they are there because they heard that King Koopa is appointed himself as the pharaoh of Pyramid Land and he only makes trouble for the citizens. It is up to Mario and friends to stop King Koopa's terror, they ride up to The Ten Koopmandments and read the various Koopmandments like "No one shall hire plumbers" and "No one shall eat any pasta". After reading them, they head to a nearby Mushroom village, where they meet The Three Mushrooms, who tell the them how King Koopa turned all the Mushroom People into bricks with the help of a magic wand, and was then able to use the bricks to build his Koopsphinx.
Meanwhile, at Koopa's building site, Koopa is informed by Mouser that they are fresh out of bricks, and that there are still some Mushroom People in the mushroom village. Koopa then rounds up the Koopa Pack and heads towards the mushroom village, where Mario and co., along with The Three Mushrooms, hide in an attempt to ambush the Koopa Pack. However, this plan backfires as The Three Mushrooms accidentally attack the Mario gang. Koopa catches them and turns The Three Mushrooms into bricks. He then brings Mario and company to a pyramid, where he traps them inside. In moments, the gang is chased by a Goomba Mummy; then they are attacked by a Cobrat and a Phanto. They are trapped between the Goomba Mummy and the Phanto when the gang finds an emergency exit slide to escape from the pyramid.
After escaping, Mario and friends steal Koopa's magic staff from him while he is sleeping and turn the sphinxes back into the Mushroom People. The gang escapes across the desert to the Red Sauce Sea. When Koopa finds out about this, he gets the Koopa Pack to go after them, but by the time they get there, Mario and the crew have made it across the Red Sauce Sea by using the Magic Scepter to split it in half. Once they are across, they close the sea up behind them before Koopa and the Koopa Pack can get out. As Mario and the Mushroom People celebrate, Toadstool wonders what they should do for a celebration. Seeing the Red Sauce Sea, Mario then decides they should have a big spaghetti feast. The episode ends as he ponders where they could get a hundred billion tons of pasta.

Trivia
- Its name is a pun on the Ten Commandments.
- The episode is erroneously called "The Ten Koopandments" on WildBrain's YouTube channel.[1]
- This episode is based on the second half of the Judeo-Christian tale of Exodus, the second book in both the Bible and the Torah.
- Mario's role is based on Moses, freeing the slaves of a powerful tyrant and parting the Red Sea with his staff.
- This episode's name is based off of The Ten Commandments, a movie based on the Exodus story.
- In the Exodus story, Moses receives the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai, to praise the God of Israel who brought them out of labor, whereupon he breaks the original tablets after seeing that the Hebrews made an idol out of the gold they took from the Pharaoh and demanded they melt it into a gold chest to carry the Commandments, after writing a second set on the same mountain. Here, Koopa has written his own set of Koopmandments which direct all glory and worship to himself.
- The Three Mushrooms are parodies of The Three Stooges due to similar personalities and they resemble the Three Stooges.
- According to writer Perry Martin, the original premise for the episode was named "Koop-Tut" in which King Koopa "turns everyone into bricks" to build a "Koopinx," but it was rejected by DIC executives, allegedly due to being "too imaginative." Not wanting to waste the premise, Marin rewrote the script as a more straightforward movie parody, having remembered that Andy Heyward wanted a parody of The Ten Commandments, and got the script approved.[3]
