Template:Missionbox Pole-Jumping for Red Coins is the third mission of Dire, Dire Docks in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. The objective is to collect the eight Red Coins in the second area.
- It is required to first finish the main objective of Bowser In The Fire Sea in order to spawn the yellow and black poles for the traditional route on this star.**
Layout
All eight of the Red Coins are located in the second area of the course, and most are suspended in the air, requiring the use of the poles to collect them. If Bowser in the Fire Sea has yet to be completed, Bowser's submarine will still be there, preventing the poles from appearing.
To get up to the poles, the player needs to hit the Purple Switch on the boardwalk, which will create some blocks off to the side the player can use to reach the above platforms. Upon the player reaching the first platform, there is one of the Red Coins and two sets of poles: one to the left that brings the player to three more Red Coins, and one that brings the player to the next platform. The next platform contains the Star Marker and splits into two more paths. The path on the right has three poles the player needs to jump between, though the DS version has only one pole, and leads to a single Red Coin. The path forward has several poles the player has to jump between, though an additional platform was added in the DS version. Once all eight of the Red Coins are collected, the Power Star will appear at the Star Marker.
