I know that the splits on this page still need to happen, but regardless, should this take priority? I mean, maybe it's because I absolutely don't like the "(New Super Mario Bros. series)" identifier for specific reasons (which of course can be handled in a different discussion), but I feel like it should take priority since the Arrow Lifts from SM64 only appear in one area (Wet-Dry World), whereas these objects are already far more common and appear in three different games (four if ports and/or remakes are counted). 00:32, July 4, 2020 (EDT)

:SM64 object would have priority as an in-game name, actually. Sides, if "ports and/or remakes" are counted, that's two appearances due to 64DS. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:23, July 4, 2020 (EDT)

I found a source for this name[edit]

Looked up my Prima guide for New Super Mario Bros. U on pages 172 and 173. These "so-called" Switchback Platforms are only referred to as "arrow lifts," all lowercase. I don't have the guide for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, so I'm not sure if they're called arrow lifts there or not. So, should the information on here be moved to the actual Arrow Lift page or should they just be kept here under Arrow lift (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) or something like that? – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 11:40, 10 July 2018 (EDT)

The name of the level "Switchback Hill" refers to this object in-game, so it should really be called a Switchback. Besides, I'm fairly certain the Arrow Lift article currently contains four different subjects in it already. LinkTheLefty (talk) 19:00, 10 July 2018 (EDT)
But we can't say for sure here, as it could just be a name for the level. Additionally, the Luigi U level that these platforms appear in is Rainbow Skywalk, which further confuses matters. Do we have any other definitive proof that this is indeed a suitable name for the article? Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 16:03, June 29, 2020 (EDT)
Well, that was before I found that the Japanese name made "arrow lift" a direct translation and also wasn't reflected in the name of the level, so I agree to change it to "arrow lift" (something still needs to be done about the "Arrow Lift" article). LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:04, June 30, 2020 (EDT)

Priority[edit]

I know that the splits on this page still need to happen, but regardless, should this take priority? I mean, maybe it's because I absolutely don't like the "(New Super Mario Bros. series)" identifier for specific reasons (which of course can be handled in a different discussion), but I feel like it should take priority since the Arrow Lifts from SM64 only appear in one area (Wet-Dry World), whereas these objects are already far more common and appear in three different games (four if ports and/or remakes are counted). Referencing this playlist, it's not as far as the original version is concerned, though I don't know if New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe changed anything. LinkTheLefty (talk) 17:10, July 4, 2020 (EDT)
