That question could be asked for a LOT of enemies. As for this one, I'm not sure, but I can't find proof of it being official. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

But Prima has every fact wrong. It calls swoopers bats, whomps thwomps, Mega Goomba the boss, "Giant Goomba", and it says Wario came from the WarioWare series and that Dry Bones first appearence is Super Mario World. Plus, this is unmario related, but they call Resident Evil 4 Ganados, Zombies which they clearly aren't, which is CLEARLY read the first time you kill an enemy. Boo der dash

I am aware of that, but Prima is more of a last resort source of information. They do screw up names a lot but if there is contradicting info from a better source, we tend to ignore Prima. Since this name is the only official name for this boss, it'll have to work. Prima is also considered the official strategy book by retailers so that adds a little credibilty. I know that Prima can be used as a LAST resort, but if theres better ones we should use them. I'm am content with Giga Lakitu, I see nothing wrong with that. I just think Prima is the absolute worst guide out there. But if theres nothing left we can use that. I have no idea why its the official strategy book by retailers though.   • In fact, just look at the Bee Trap enemy. That wasn't actually named, but the conjectural name we gave it now suits it very well and makes perfect sense. Why do you have to be a jerk about his name? Nintendo never gave this guy an official name anywhere. The most official source we have now is Prima even that's not the most reliable source.:S--UM3000

Well, I got mad because some people can't seem to handle these things right. You just immediately dismissed me as a jerk without even getting what I really meant. I was using the Bee Trap as an example because even if the name is conjectural, it works just fine for it. Same could be applied to this guy. (For the record, the name Giga Lakitu was from IGN's SMG2 guide. But even then, I have no idea how they found that out.) BooDestroyer 13:00, 24 February 2011 (EST)

My guess is unofficial sources ask Nintendo what they should call it. Giga Lakitu is probably correct if both prima and IGN said it, but where did King Lakitu come from? A Link to the Present 13:05, 3 April 2011 (EDT)
