::::This is not the first community-wide ban that has happened, and it may not be the last. I get this is a pretty heavy subject here, as an active and helpful editor was suddenly banned indefinitely. But this is not up for debate or further discussion, as even Trig wants this subject to be dropped. Move on. {{User:Alex95/sig}} 13:12, March 19, 2020 (EDT) |

RE:Junior Clown Car
Just to be crystal clear here... do you mean "localization" or "vocalization"? (T|C) 20:35, April 28, 2019 (EDT)
- To be rather frank, LinkTheLefty is basing this off of one source and mere appearance, rather than every angle possible. Since the vocalization is the only source we have and nothing else, I would rather see a proposal be made about the matter, or better yet, wait until Super Mario Maker 2 releases to confirm that it is indeed known as the "Junior Clown Car" in the New Super Mario Bros. U style. (T|C) 07:40, April 29, 2019 (EDT)
IP edit
It's good that you're erring on the side of caution, but not every edit made by an anonymous user is questionable, and not every edit needs a reason provided, either because they don't know about the summary function or it's non-obscure, in-game content (which is the case here). This could have been checked by simply Googling or YouTubing "mario rabbids all weapons" (which is what I did, since I don't own the game) or seeking verification from users who do have the game. zeldawiki.info
Alright, new url: http://zeldawiki.info/ ; this is a real independent Zelda Wiki. Since Zelda Archive was closed off to editors, I moved the content to Triforce Wiki. Your Blaaz page is remained intact Results May Vary (talk) 11:06, April 30, 2019 (EDT)
RE:Snowflakes
Nope. You, the player, cannot enter the game and thus cannot interact with the snowflakes directly. The characters you control, however, can. "Player" is a different concept from "playable character"; it can be a human or a computer, but not the character itself. A puppeteer is not the puppet. And there is nothing fluffy in saying that the Kongs / Mario / any other fictional character start on a platform or should not touch an obstacle. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 19:39, May 10, 2019 (EDT)
- The big snowflakes "chase" you in that part of the level and you have no choice but to move forward since they can also destroy platforms. But I'm not sure how to word that better. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 19:54, May 10, 2019 (EDT)

About your Infinate lives trick, there should be a list because there is more than 1 way. [-]€40 vv@(talk · edits) 10:41, May 12, 2019 (EDT)
Regarding reporting HEROMARIO
So, altering someone's report even it is just a report is against the rule as well? I thought that it was collective. -- FanOfYoshi 13:42, May 25, 2019 (EDT)
Re:SML subjects that you are adding names in other languages for
Nope, no description on that. It's described in one section of the manual, but it doesn't really have its own write up or anything like that. The character descriptions were the most of interest in there, I think. UM3000
Splitting Chibi Yoshis
The thing about splitting them individually is that they're just the Super Mario Kun interpretation of the Baby Yoshis from Yoshi's Story, and with very few exceptions (namely the live-action film), we generally don't split alternate versions of the same character. That, and the original game ones don't have their own articles, so it would look odd for the adaptions to receive articles over them. Also, the person who originally made the article is inactive, so it's likely that we won't get the volume 20 information that may be worth expanding this content over and the red links would only remain perpetually. LinkTheLefty (talk) 16:59, June 2, 2019 (EDT)
About that
I don't have to worry about that anymore. Lord Falafel is back. Lord Falafel 2 (talk) 10:18, June 8, 2019 (EDT)
Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia lists
Just a heads-up: I've added my list of English translation mistakes and names from the Super Mario Wiki to the main article since I felt like it reached a point where there will be no major changes in the future, and since you haven't added to your own list in a little while, so I figure now might be a good time for you to move yours as well. LinkTheLefty (talk) 14:00, July 4, 2019 (EDT)
- Well, if you're no longer going to be working on it, would you mind terribly if it were moved to the main article? LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:40, December 11, 2019 (EST)

What??? Why can’t I remove my own comment??? Where does it say that??? No one responded??? [-]€40 vv@(talk · edits) 13:32, July 12, 2019 (EDT)

RE:Stub
The only section I revised was the one for Blinking Block Blitz; however, all the others make no sense. Bouncing through the Clouds and Dry Bones Lava Lurker are so short that one or two sentences suffice for a description without describing irrelevant details. As for Lava Bubble Limbo, while it's definitely long, only the size of the enemies and the overall patterns of the Lava Bubbles change after the Checkpoint Flag, so I think that only three to four sentences suffices to describe said level. Help
Hey. I need some help uploading an image file of the Japanese McDonald's edition of the Nelsonic game watch called Luigi's Hammer Toss. If you want to help me, I can give you the code, what the source is and what I want the image called. Uploading an image all by myself is too complicated. It's like putting a baby in front of a computer for me. Can you please help me? Lord Falafel (talk) 10:33, August 20, 2019 (EDT)
Mario and Sonic Images
Hey, really appreciate that you added the images for Mario Sonic 2020, but please be aware that you should crop images that have unneeded space, especially with your images of Eggman, Wario, and Shadow. You can look at the file history of them to see what I mean. Thanks!

In terms of welcome
Now I am not an expert, but seeing as the welcome template has been considered outdated and shouldn't be used, it is likely that image upload reminder shouldn't be used either. Trig - 12:47, August 20, 2019 (EDT)
Difference
There's a difference between making a mistake and choosing not to do something important. I don't want to be rude here, but I have worked so hard to perfect this website and someone undoes a truthful edit. But I'm not gonna be a quitter like Ireallydontcare123456789 and stop editing this wiki. I'll just stop talking to TheDarkStar. I'm going to deal with this the best way I can. Re: This revision
There was probably a misunderstanding, about how was it done, which is why i did that, but now that i understand what he was trying to do, i'll just stay at your point. -- FanOfYoshi 03:04, August 31, 2019 (EDT)

"Unlikely unsourced info"
I assume this is about the SMA size thing. Anyways, a quick YouTube search will show that the game abuses Super FX-esque squash/stretch/rotation/all that nasty stuff to levels not quite rivaling Yoshi's Story, with Pidgit carpets indeed appearing about a single pixel larger through obvious distortion (ie one pixel row or column is stretched to the length of two). However, GBA tiles are still in the previous 16x16 format, so it wasn't stored in the ugly enlarged way. Don't just callously remove things because it's unsourced, it doesn't need sourcing because it would require a detailed analytic on how graphics are used, which varies game-to-game. Heck, even the later SMA games stooped way back from sprite distortion (fortunately). Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:15, October 1, 2019 (EDT)
Sponsors rewrite tags
Hi, I noticed that you put a bunch of rewrite tags on the sponsors articles recently, and I'd like to get to work on removing them, but I don't quite understand what you mean by speculation and redundancy, so I was wondering if you could try to clarify it a bit? Thank you. :) BBQ Turtle (talk) 02:40, October 6, 2019 (EDT)
- I think I get some of what you're saying, I know what you mean by the speculation now. That one is a particularly bad example as that was one of the first ones I wrote so I hadn't really got the full grasp of what I was doing yet, so I can get rid of that sort of thing easily and I don't think there should be too much of it around, I had forgotten that that sort of thing was still in there. I still don't quite get what you mean by the redundancy thing though, so is there any chance you could have another shot at explaining that? Sorry to have to keep asking, but this is just something I generally struggle with, so some explanation is helpful for me. :) BBQ Turtle (talk) 16:57, October 8, 2019 (EDT)
Dr. Mario World 6 Upload trouble
Hello Doomhiker, you surely remember me. Since you and the admin told me to talk to you when I run into trouble uploading a file, this time I did it before screwing up thrice. Once again I uploaded a file correctly but I have trouble putting it into the correspondent section. Despite your previous explanations on how to do it, it just doesn't work and instead the nocoverart.png is uploaded. This CSS rubbish is seriously tiresome and I sincerely and humbly ask for your help to do one entire upload with me together - from upload to correct filing into the section.
The file already exists, it's this one: https://www.mariowiki.com/File:Dr._Mario_World_World_6.png (and this time I took the screenshot in english). Help and baby steps/dummy talk is appreciated since this editing is really something I begin to detest. No change is ever done conflict-free and I'm reconsidering editing anything else than text in the future. Thank you for your time! ~~Escopeto~~

Re: Big Chomp and Little Chomp
Regarding the take-down of the mechanics I put up, what would suffice as far as evidence? I feel like even if I make a blog-post showing the bits of assembly I stepped through, at some point you'll have to take my word for it that those are the ones running during the actual game. Just seems sad to remove the "most accurate" information about how this mini-game actually works, even if it does happen to not be completely accurate.

Woah
That ban seemed a little too drastic. I don't know how radical their activity was outside of the Mario Wiki, but the user didn't bring in any of those problems onto here as far as I'm aware (and was actually a very contributive user). I'm curious if the action was agreed on by the admins and patrollers. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 10:56, March 18, 2020 (EDT)
I'm definitly shocked by this as well. I completely agree with him banned thought I admit I will miss his contributions here on the wiki, he was almost 24/7 here and seemed really concerned with the wiki's quality and never seems to have had brought any problems here. It's a shame. It's like the saying "Never judge a book by it's cover". CastleResearch (talk) 00:56, March 19, 2020 (EDT)
yeah im kinda baffled that he was banned for something completely unrelated to the wiki
as for the whole coronavirus Leroy thing, that was taken wildly out of context (at least according to trig) and in the absolute worst-case scenario, could have been solved with just a ban from the server
his last comment in that radical hate server was months ago, and he's told me that he stopped believing in their ideologies, and most of his post history was actually refuting some even worse stuff (though im still confused as to why he stayed)
in finishment, this was several degrees of magnitude too drastic imo. TheDarkStar 10:46, March 19, 2020 (EDT)
- Like, is there any evidence of unacceptable off-wiki behavior that the admin team can disclose as their basis for banning Trig and which doesn't date back too far? (T|C) 10:51, March 19, 2020 (EDT)
- Personally, the "three million" thing I saw looked more a shitpost to me than anything, in all honesty. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 10:52, March 19, 2020 (EDT)
- You realize you're defending a neo nazi, right? The wiki is one for everyone of all ages. It doesn't matter if Trig's nazi stuff was off the wiki: the wiki needs to be safe, and thus the wiki should not have any users who actually believe in this kind of junk. The "most of his post history was actually refuting some even worse stuff" is bullshit. His posts include reposting a tweet which made fun of different gender identities (likely aimed at non-binary and intersex people), anti-immigration stuff, and not respecting others' religions. His last post was on October, 23, 2019. The fact that he stayed so long was because he still believed in their stuff. Why? Because if you no longer believed in such a radical hate group, you would immediately leave. So the fact he was still posting there until recently shows that he recently believed in them. And you just don't change from that in few months, plus the fact that he honestly stated "i believe in reducing the global population" a couple of days ago, and went on about it for multiple posts on Discord, shows that him "moving on" from those ideologies is at least mostly false. Trust me, he seemed dead serious in those posts.
- Personally, the "three million" thing I saw looked more a shitpost to me than anything, in all honesty. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 10:52, March 19, 2020 (EDT)
- The reason why we gave him a community-wide ban for something unrelated to the wiki, is because the MarioWiki community does not accept neo-nazis. Just like how it doesn't accept pedophiles. The wiki, and the community should be safe. We should NEVER have users which are awful human beings, regardless of if they act like that here. We're not the place to go for redemption. We're not a safe haven for the worst of humanity. Doomhiker (talk) 12:46, March 19, 2020 (EDT)
- Minor thing, I'm transgender, and "Non-binary" is not gender identity (though that's a common misconception). It's gender expression. And really, the last thing comes off more as a failed attempt at an Avengers Endgame joke than anything. Admittedly, I do not know the precise context due to how little is being divulged, but from the small amount I can see, it really does seem shitpost-y. I don't even really like Trig, this just seems rather extreme without any actual context. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:59, March 19, 2020 (EDT)
- Believe me, I wasn't interested in defending Trig in the slightest, I was just asking for clarification since accusing someone of engaging in "extreme" communities usually requires some basis behind it, not that your actions were questionable in the slightest. (T|C) 13:03, March 19, 2020 (EDT)
