Bad news: I find out that the black is actually 000400 in hex, instead of 000000 like I thinked. This means that there is slightly less green and that the sprites I uploaded aren't the true actual sprites. This is a problem or we can keep it? The eye cann't see any difference. And since the Ghost in-box isn't in the sprite sheet, I had to rip the Ghost outside the box in an empty box and then double. So the placement could be wrong. {{User:Tsunami/sig}}

Hi, I had a look at your table for the items, and yes, I have a few suggestions. By the way, the loosen mushroom pic exists, there's no need for another one. Do you think you could move it here so I can make some minor edits and we can both work on it? - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 03:40, 22 August 2014 (EDT)

Done. Now I will see if there is anything to improve in the article, so we can both edit it. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
Thanks :D I've already added it to my watch list. I'll make some inprovements, but I'll make sure that you have a share in this. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 06:15, 22 August 2014 (EDT)
Good! Only a thing... now that you have reduced the colums to 2, it gets sortable, while with 3, it doesn't. Why? And let's decide if the images should be edited to be like the Feather or half big. And look what I found: [1]. Probabily where the images are found, but in-game sprites are better. I also added a thing to the table. Another thing: with a ROM and the program EpicEdit you will find all the item's probabilities to be got. Thing is, there are 8 custom sets and rarity changes within modes. What do do? Let's add them or what? YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
I just find out that the table looks messy when reordered. We can delete the sortability from the left column and putting the name before the image (SOMEHOW) or remove sortability completely. I would opte for the second since I don't know how tables work. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
Since I was getting no response from you, I uploaded the Coin pic anyway. Thing is, we really need it double the size, it's very small. I think I could easily do that. If instead you want to do that (or maybe we could split the work), upload a new version of the file. We need to be online at the same time sometimes...YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
Sleep is something you can't avoid, I'm afraid. We don't need to delete the sortability, but if you want, I can just change the table. As for the coin image, size doesn't really matter. By putting [[File:SMKCoin.png|100px]] or something like that, the size will increase. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 16:29, 22 August 2014 (EDT)
Y'know, I have probabily different times from you. Yeah, we need to put the name before the image somehow and maybe delete the sorability from the right column, otherwise the order is random. But the image now looks blurry... I will try to double Coin's size. Or maybe halving the Feather, but I don't suggest that. I can easily do that (maybe only with a single click). If this works like I suggested, I will probabily upload all pics today. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Actually, the names should go under the item, not above. Maybe we could get rid of that background and just keep the item itself? Like the poison mushroom? - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 03:48, 23 August 2014 (EDT)

The Poison Mushroom is an exception because it never appears in the box. That's an idea, but we first need to choose with pic of Shells upload, in the box or once used, which is different. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
Thing is, I don't know how to make trasparency in Paint.NET. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
Try just sticking it on a PowerPoint and removing the background. I think I should rewrite some if the item descriptions, some seen a bit... I don't know. Or did you just take it from the manual? If you did that's fine. I think - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 07:05, 23 August 2014 (EDT)
As long as there are no errors, take from the manual, it's better. If you want to do little edits from that text, feel free. I'll now see how to make the trasparency, but this don't means I will be offline. Because it's better to use the time we are online togheter, work will rocket. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
I've changed it a little bit, by getting rid if the * things and made Banana Peel suit it's Manual description. The Item Box doesn't really belong there as it isn't an item, but it does deserve a mention on the written section if the article. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 07:26, 23 August 2014 (EDT)
I simply didn't know where to mention it. I have managed to make the feather transparent. Thing is, we need a background to the table, because if not the white could be confused. Which color do you suggest? Or shoud I make a border? YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
It's fine if you didn't know where to put it. Instead if a border, take a look at what I have done and see if you like it. I ended up completely changing the table, if it's no good I'll revert it and try something else out. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 07:41, 23 August 2014 (EDT)
I'm impressed! Now I'll update the Feather, see if you like it. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
I make it darker, otherwise the white pixels are hard to notice. Anyway, good job! I'll now work to make the items twice as big and trasparent using only Paint.NET (yes, I figured how to make, it is a copypaste work mainly). It will take a while, but surely I will do it. If not, why am I even there? If you have some other suggestion for other sections, make them as long as I am online. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Maybe the table needs to be darker. I'm try it out. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image

Just for let you know, I think I can make double sized images faster. I'll try with the egg. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Surprise! Fireball and Egg are here! This don't means the table is finished. A thing: for others item, the pic I should upload is:

  • The one when the item is in the box:
  • The one when the item is on the track.

Those in the track looks better and complex. Download the 3rd SMK Sheet at www.mariouniverse.com and see which I should upload. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

I don't really understand much of that, but nice job on the images regardless. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 05:53, 24 August 2014 (EDT)
You want both of those now? Should we revert the feather image to the original form and upload the new version as a separate file? Artwork of Baby Luigi from Mario Kart Wii (also used in Mario Super Sluggers and Mario Kart Tour)BabyLuigi64Corrin's official artwork from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U
I understand now. Different sprites for the different places. I think maybe stick to the box version for the ones that come in boxes, as items like feathers can't be seem out on the field, so we should keep it consistent. And Shroom64, once we're done, there will not be a need for the pics with boxes. (He means on the track or in the box on the upper hand corner, because they're actually different sprites). I'll be able to assist Monday arvo as I'll have a computer then. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 07:31, 24 August 2014 (EDT)
OK, let's put them into the box (this means I will work a bit more but no probs). I think that for Banana, Green and Red Shells and Coins we can upload both in track and in box: at the left, in box, at the right, in track w/o box. All double-sized to avoid low resolution. Is this OK? YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.
Sounds good. Maybe just the info down, we Should do the minor adjustments later. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 07:45, 24 August 2014 (EDT)
Yep. In my world, stationary Green Shells are... Bananas. At least in this game where there's no diffrence in hits. I THINK. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Three pics uploaded. Yay. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Actually, in SMK, running into a Banana and running into a Shell yield different animations, despite flipping the kart over being impossible due to technical limits. And Tsunami, the Coin doesn't appear on the track aside from the ones already on the track. I should mention, they appear flat on the ground. Also, I won't be able to be available for a while due to traveling to New Jersey for a week, but I should be able to get on. Sorry, but I am quite tired, so I will finish it within two days or three. Today I'm planning to do only Boo after Coin. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Bad news: I find out that the black is actually 000400 in hex, instead of 000000 like I thinked. This means that there is slightly less green and that the sprites I uploaded aren't the true actual sprites. This is a problem or we can keep it? The eye cann't see any difference. And since the Ghost in-box isn't in the sprite sheet, I had to rip the Ghost outside the box in an empty box and then double. So the placement could be wrong. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Yes, I ate a Dash Mushroom for making 4 images this morning. All the Shells are missing. YoshiCGicon.pngTSUNAMIArtwork of Plessie with the four playable characters, from Super Mario 3D World.

Items are obtained through ? Panels, scattred around the track. When the player passes over one, it will turn red (used) and not return orange (though in Battle Mode they did). Once a racer passes over one, with a few exceptions, they will receive an item in their box from the following:

Okay, a few things to note...

  • I can't find a fireball sprite image. Please post under this comment if one is found.
  • Does it have to be "Manual Description"? The description for Ghost makes me doubt it is.
  • Reminder: The Ghost item, as noted, is exclusive to Battle Mode. I don't know if you are aware, but Battle was multiplayer-exclusive until MKDS.
  • @Tsunami: Why'd you change the Feather image? The original version of the image fits with the rest of the items obtainable by a human player.

  • I have it.
  • I will change the Ghost a bit.
  • I don't get it, sorry.
  • That was request of Ninelevendo. It is the true sprite. And I was planning on uploading others. If your are not OK, try discussing with Ninelevendo, I'm fine either way.
