Once the player reaches the four spinning platforms, they need to take the magic carpet to the right. After passing the obstacles on its path, the player needs to take the next carpet on the left before the one they are on falls. Remaining on that carpet and passing the spinning platform will take the player to the large ship. The Power Star is located on the bow of the ship.

In the DS version, the Star is instead moved further down towards the very tip of the bow, and the winds are too strong for anyone to collect. In order to get it, Wario must obtain a Power Flower that he can use to bypass the winds more easily. He can then get the Star at the very end. However, Luigi can backflip from a carpet to get to the Star, and Mario can grab the Power Flower and float to it. Even Yoshi can reach the Star if he runs and sticks out his tongue alternately on the bow.
