Template:Minigame-infobox Sphere Mongers is a 4-player minigame appearing in Super Mario Party. The name is a pun on "fearmonger", a pejorative for a person or organization that tries to stir the public through scares, usually through exaggerated or false information.
Gameplay
Players each ride a UFO with magnets underneath them. Various metallic spheres spawn and fall into the arena. The silver ones are worth one point while the gold spheres are worth three. While the spheres are falling, players can catch some without having to lower the magnet. For spheres on the ground, however, players must lower the magnet to grab some spheres. Players then can drop the spheres into a zone for points. Players move slower with more spheres, and spheres can be knocked from the magnet pull if players collide with each other. The player(s) with the highest points wins.
Controls
- – Move
- - Lower magnet
In-game description
"Drag the spheres back to your area!"
"Gold spheres are worth three points!"
Tips: "Your UFO will move slower if you're carrying a lot of spheres."
