Spacebugs are large mechanical purple beetles with slot-like mouths and pincer-like mandibles that appear in Super Mario Galaxy.
They apparently try to suck Mario into their mouth as he gets close, but it is unknown if they are trying to vacuum him up or if they are simply chasing him, trying to catch the plumber and force him with their pincers. They will appear in the Honeybee Galaxy as common foes.
