Trivia
Hello. Please do not move information to trivia sections, we want our trivia sections to only include information that can otherwise not fit anywhere. As such, if anything, we want things to be moved out of trivia sections, not the other way around. Other than that, great job on your edits so far, and keep editing. :) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:01, 9 May 2018 (EDT)
- Oh okay cool! I'm still just trying to figure out how things work around here so thanks for letting me know. --Weuxj (talk) 11:31, 9 May 2018 (EDT)
Categories
Hello, Weuxj. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Categories are placed by typing something like
, not
as that transcludes the information on Category:Super Mario Odyssey Images, which isn't what you want.
Also, not sure if you should be uploading images from the Mario Wikia. 17:27, 9 May 2018 (EDT)
- Oh whoops! Thank you for letting me know. I'm still learning so I'll keep that in mind. Also I'll refrain from uploading Mario Wikia images then if it's going to cause problems. Thank you! --Weuxj (talk) 17:43, 9 May 2018 (EDT)
Art poster
Regrading your recent uploads, do not crop off character artworks from Game posters. L151
- Oh I'm sorry. I honestly didn't know that was a rule. Do you know why that is? And so are we only allowed to upload cropped images from in-game screenshots? Also can I re-upload the images I had if I properly crop them out and put it in a transparent layer or is that a no-no too? I'm really trying to get the hang of this place so if you can help me out, that would be great. The rules around here aren't that clear to me I suppose. Thank you. --Weuxj (talk) 13:52, 14 May 2018 (EDT)
If you mean by game sprites, then yes. L151
- I meant are only in-game cropped images like this [1] allowed? Also can I re-upload the images I had if I properly crop them out and put it in a transparent layer to look like these [2] at least? I don't meant to bother, just curious. --Weuxj (talk) 15:00, 14 May 2018 (EDT)
