The Legend of Zelda is a fantasy-themed action-adventure game series created by Nintendo. The games follow the adventures of Hylian hero Link, across his various incarnations, as he battles the forces of evil. In most games, Princess Zelda appears as a deuteragonist, while Ganon is the primary antagonist.
As one of Nintendo's most successful series, the Zelda franchise has shared much synergy with the Mario franchise; many of its games are considered "sister" games to various Mario titles for sharing an engine and/or console and for innovating in similar ways.
