Arachnes are found in Rose Way in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. They are named after Arachne, the Greek goddess of spiders. They are some of the more powerful enemies Mario and his party encounter early in the game, though they are fought only alongside other enemies. Arachne attacks with its fangs, and it may also use the special attack Venom Drool, which allows it to poison Mario and his party. Arachnes are weak to most magic attacks.
