Template:Minigame-infobox Bowser Jr.'s Pound for Pound is a Boss Battle in Mario Party: Star Rush.

Intro

Bowser Jr. flies in the arena in his Junior Clown Car. A Magikoopa appears and sprinkles the Junior Clown Car with magic, making it grow bigger and equipped with boxing gloves. Each player floats down in a bubble and it pops before the fight begins.

Gameplay

Players need to ground pound the glowing switches with the Bowser Jr. mark on them to earn points and gradually deplete Bowser Jr.'s health bar. There are 8 orange switches, 12 blue switches and 16 more blue switches, each one going around in a circle. The orange switches are worth 2 points and the blue switches are worth 1 each. Bowser Jr. will also attack by either punching repeatedly and then lunging forward or by spinning a boxing glove in a circle repeatedly and then lunging forward.

After all of the switches have been ground pounded once, they need to be ground pounded again. Bowser Jr. will get two new attacks past this point. The first of these is extending his boxing glove arms to spin around in a circle. The second one has him spin around a few times. When he stops, he lunges forward in that direction. Players hit from any of Bowser Jr.'s attacks lose a point and are stunned momentarily.

Once the switches are hit again, a giant switch in the center will be available to ground pound. The first player to do so earns 2 points, plus an extra 3, ending the fight.

Ending

Bowser Jr.'s Junior Clown Car starts malfunctioning, then shrinks to its size before the fight begins. Bowser Jr. then bangs on it two times, then flies away. In Toad Scramble, the tower's doors in the background open up to reveal a Star.

Controls

  • Circle Pad – Move
  • A Button – Jump
  • A Button twice – Ground pound

In-game text

  • "Beat Bowser Jr.!"
  • "Ground Pound the switches!"

Trivia

  • Even though the in-game text says to defeat Bowser Jr., the players don't attack him head-on, like Mega Goomba and Mega Blooper.
