Dino Piranha

The Piranha Plant Dinosaur is a large boss enemy in the upcoming video game Super Mario Galaxy. The boss hatches out of an enormous egg that Mario must attack to break open. The Piranha Plant Dinosaur then uses its tail to break the rest of the egg open, thus starting a battle.

Appearance

It is quite notable that the Piranha Plant Dinosaur's head looks like the popular boss Petey Piranha's head, though the body is much different. The Piranha Plant Dinosaur's body beneath the Piranha Plant head is that of a dinosaur's, with a green hue. Its tail has a brown orb at the end of it with texture like some sort of seed.

Combat

The Piranha Plant Dinosaur's combat isn't known too well, since only moments of the battle have been shown in a trailer, but it is known that the Piranha Plant Dinosaur tramples over Mario, running around the Geo Planet and possibly doing other attacks.

It is suggested that the Piranha Plant Dinosaur's unique tail is also used for fighting in some way, since it used the tail to break open the egg and such detail has been put into it; it was recently revealed that to injure the Piranha Plant Dinosaur, Mario would need to hit it's tail, knocking it into the air, where it would snap back and bash the Piranha Plant Dinosaur on the head.

It is also possible that the Piranha Plant Dinosaur is just an enemy, rather than a boss, but quite unlikely.

An interesting feature is that the Piranha Plant Dinosaur first breaks out of its egg its head is purple. Later screenshots showed it with a red head and less petals. It is likly that the petal act as a sort of health meter for the Dinosaur, with its head changing color as it loses petals.
