Mario Kart Wii is an upcoming Mario Kart game slated for release in the first quarter of 2008. It was announced at the the 2007 E3 Nintendo conference on July 11th. This game will continue the traditional Mario Kart gameplay; instead of having 2 drivers like its console predecessor, it will only include one driver per kart (like all the other Mario Kart games). There aren't many confirmed characters, but these are the characters that have been seen in screenshots and videos: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, Bowser, and Baby Mario. This game will also include some of the previous tracks from Mario Kart games in a manner similar to Mario Kart DS. It will also include the online functionality that its predecessor does, but it will have eight racers to compete, be on Nintendo Wi-Fi rather than LAN, and include an online Battle Mode.
